OT: New York Liberty 2025 Season Thread

i'm a pretty devout liberty/W fan. but there just hasn't been enough traction even on the W forum to kinda stay consistent. but the liberty are an interesting enough story for me. i'll be here.

my custom sab 1s are my favorite basketball shoes i've ever owned. need to stop playing and get the 2s.

Nice. Hopefully we can get more folks here to watch with us, it really is fun basketball and Sabrina and Tasha have been my dream backcourt for years, so I'm trying to enjoy this while it lasts.

those sab 2s are hard af but. but i think i still like the 1s better. might just be sentimental.

i screamed when we got tash. and she has been everything we've needed. she is pretty much an improvement on everything we hoped sloot would give us. (and she did. no shade. glad she's back home in chicago with allie after our chip. so much deserved winning.)

tash still clearly has plenty in the tank. dog of dogs. Philly tough in that dawn staley mold.

i was scared the liberty would always be that team to get close and never get it. that title was so satisfying after watching since lobo days.

Tasha reminds me of the gals I grew up hooping with in my old neighborhood, that, and she's a very thoughtful down to earth person. It's hard not to become a fan.

Yeah no shade to Sloot but Tasha is basically an upgraded version of her, and her slashing off the dribble gives us two guards that can get anywhere they want on the court. Like I said, this is a dream backcourt.

I teared up when we won last year. It felt incredible. I hope we can raise the trophy again this year.

Will the Liberty have the cap room to offer Caitlin Clark the biggest contract in WNBA history when she becomes a free agent in a few years? Also, if Caitln Clark plays for the Liberty, they should go back to having their home games in MSG

clark aside, liberty not being at the garden is the hardest part of it to take. but they are being treated with the appropriate respect in brooklyn.

We play at Barclays and I kid you not, the crowds are bigger and more rowdy than any Nets game I've attended.

Regarding Clark, I don't see it unless she falls out of love with Indiana.

This summer damn near every player aside from Clark, Reese, Paige etc are free agents as the new CBA kicks in. There is no telling what will happen when the smoke clears.

Damn, just keep this Liberty team together. It's stacked, and I even like the role players. Marine Johannes is a hooper, running jumpers and slicker passing than you'd expect from someone with mid-stats!

I don't like Joe and Clara Tsai for a few reasons, but Jonathan Kolb is an excellent GM and if Leon ever departs MSG, he's got my vote. Dude really put together a powerhouse.

Like imagine if Betnijah Lainey-Hamilton didn't get injured during Unrivaled?? Aw man.

Yeah. We gotta keep this core together. Stewie, Sab, Jonquel, Tasha, Leo is an elite 5.

But our bench is just dirty. I couldn't believe the roster when I saw it at training camp.

For anyone who wants to lock in with us, I will offer this piece of advice: Watch Breanna Stewart and just take it all in because we don't know how much longer we will have her here.

She's one of the best defenders I've ever seen, regardless of gender. Her defense is what makes us so lethal. Stewie is a GOAT.

Also, Jonquel Jones is a legitimate weapon at Stretch 5. I have a feeling we're gonna see a lot of posts this summer asking "Hey how come Karl doesn't do that for us!!?"

our team is every bit as deep and scary as the aces were touted to be a couple years ago. and our vet bigs are on or approaching the tail end of their legendary careers. i'm definitely drinking in every moment. stewies and JJs don't grow on trees and we are so lucky to have them.
