The new Broken Social Scene Presents... album is fantastic. Highly recommended. I liked the first one with Kevin Drew quite a bit but this one is even better.

MGMT is not indie rock. My 4 year old niece playing a xylophone is indie rock.

This might be better classified as folk, but it's pretty good regardless. Be Good Tanyas

This song actually wasn't too bad.. Catchy guitarwork. Bill, I thought you'd at least like it because of the lead singer.

Actually, I went and listened to some of their other stuff I found on youtube.. This band is right up my alley. :o I'm gonna have to listen to their albums in full, stoned outta my mind. Thanks for putting me on, Chislic!

Just met a beautiful young woman in a cafe far away from home and she introduced me to a bunch of new bands that I'd never heard of. I think I might be in love with her.

I love this video.

Sigur Ros

sigor ros is great.... check out this song/video:

and if you find it a little boring (which i hope you don't) you should atleast fast forward to the build up at 3:47-ish, and listen till the end

Amazing video. I don't find their stuff boring at all. Their videos are incredible. I guess their new CD comes with a movie that has a lot of scenes of Iceland and the band or something. It seemed sort of strange to me but after watching these it may be worth getting.

The newest band that's rocking my world is a Melbourne band called Little Red - They basically do 50's- and 60's-inspired rock that's at times reminiscent of the Beach Boys and sometimes even early Motown stuff.

Their album "Listen to Little Red" came out recently, and it's really quite awesome.

It's on iTunes, and you should get it.

Based off of your recommendation I picked up a ticket to see Beck/MGMT here in MInneapolis. :D

I saw MGMT in concert back in June, there were absolutely amazing.
You're going to enjoy them a lot.

Dr. Dog.

And I will second both MGMT and Sigur Ros.

I'm into this band Maps & Atlases right now..

http://www.myspace.com/mapsandatlases

My friends saw them up in Boston and they're so indie they had to ask for help from the audience to help them move their gear out to the van. They're pretty small time right now but they have an interesting sound. The guitar player has a really weird technique. If you look on YouTube for them you'll see what I mean.
