Johnny Hoops wrote:Can someone please tell me why Memphis would trade Darko (24) and less $ to the Knicks for Fat-Rich (29) and more $?

Please get this one done Donnie.

Because we are sending cash their way. Also we may buy their pick for another 3 million which saves them a lot of money.

lol@ 23! Feels like he's been that age for years....
i agree with pharm, knick fans should welcome a trade like this with open arms..

Its pretty much trade Q-rich for an expiring deal. That gives us an extra trading chip, plus makes room for more room for Danilo. Darko could be quite useful as well.

2 separate trades?

#2 (Rubio) for #8, #28, 2010 2nd Rounder, and $3 Million

and

Darko for Q + #3 Million

bling talks in the NBA, especially this season ;)

The downside of this report is now some knicks fans have already cashed the check, and if it doesn't happen it will somehow be Walsh's fault,

money reasons. They get 3 million in cash and is a seperate trade for lets say an unguaranteed contract or a 2nd round pick or the 27th overall pick they can get 3 million more in cash. That gives them 6 million and with a buy out they might have to pay only 2 million of his contract.

That's a phenomenal deal. A young, solid defensive center, at 7 feet and with a solid jumper. He makes too much sense. I guess Jordan Hill is ruled out if this is true and Eddy's as good as gone. Darko, Wilson, Gallo and the 8th pick all under 25 and with upside...our young core gets much stronger. Good deal for both teams.

I love Darko (no homo). I can't wait to hear him flipping out on the court.

Seriously though, a solid pickup. Put him through the D'antoni overachieving machine and he turns into a stud.

I like this deal if it goes down for the simple fact that it lessens the likelihood that we reach on a bigman by picking the mediocre Jordan Hill at #8

All we need to do is draft a white SG and we could possibly roll out an All-white team: Rubio, Gallinari, Lee, Milicic

It's a great deal for the Knicks. There's nothing negative you can say about this.

Me likey..............

Q wasn't contributing anything except expiring and Darko while being a monumental bust as a #2 pick is at least still young enough to be worth having a look at for a year. He provides something the Knicks actually need. A defending, fairly skilled, decent BBIQ player in a true center sized package.

QBRICK is just horrible, and if this deal goes through then Walsh just looks like a genius.
24 year old who was number 2 year old as a one year rental, where maybe we can Rejuvenate his career. Seriously, if Darko posts up the numbers everyone expected him too when he was taken number 2 overall we would have a tremendous core of Gallo Chandler Darko and this years #8.
Now if Walsh buys their other first rounder and he buys minnys other first rounder you know he is going to be packing the three picks and maybe mobley's contract to OKC for that 3rd overall and snag Rubio, even though i hate him.
Rubio
Chandler
Gallo
Lee
Milicic/Eddy

Ill take it for this year.. Put LBJ in their and convert Gallo into a PF and we got a team for the future.
