I honestly think we can grab the 4th seed when its all said and done. With or without Carmelo.

Be real NY fans.

1) Boston, Miami and Orlando will be top 3. Chicago for sure to win Central division meaning regardless of their record they will be nb.4 seed. Then you have Atlanta probably 5(even if they will have better record than chi) and NY as high as 6th. Best case scenario NY finishes 5 and plays chicago.

We are tied for 4th right now. STFU and GTFO with those lucky charms.

Meo may ramp up his efforts to make his way to NY. He just spent a week with his family after the death of his sister. Sometimes time with family usually refocuses you on the things that matter. his family wants to be in NY.

I still think the Nets have some chance -- I believe Sheridan and Berger's source but there is still a chance Melo can be convinced to change his mind and go to Newark. How much of a chance, who knows, but I think there is *a* chance. However, I also do not think incarceratedbob has any inside information on this whatsoever.

He definitely doesn't. I feel like he states obvious things but says it as fact and hopes it sticks. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

There is no way this thing doesn't drag to the deadline the way it's going right now. Most teams' front offices are probably vacationing right now or spending time with their families. Meaning no substantial trade talk. Then Denver probably won't want to make a move until Melo plays a few games in January with a healthy squad. So mid-January is when teams will start contacting Denver and vice-versa. Then with the deadline so close, it would be hard to see Denver not trying to use that as leverage to get a better deal. Like getting a team involved for a rental trying to make a run at it this year or playing poker with Melo saying it's NJ or FA the day before the deadline. At the very least they would probably get the Knicks to up their offer a bit. -Jitpal

And also they probably feel the longer they wait, the better the draft picks will be. But on the other hand, the closer it gets to the deadline, the less Carmelo will feel eager to leave right away (since free agency will be around the corner). It's true that he can get the most $ per year if he extends, but maybe he'd rather have a 5-year deal on a team of his choice, rather than signing an extension at a place he's not crazy about.

how much do you guys think each of these teams records plays a part in this whole Melo saga?

Knicks: if the knicks continue to win, then Melo feels he is the missing piece to put us over the top

Nets: The more the nets lose than the less attractive it looks for Melo. by the time february trade deadline rolls around they might be 15-33, which would be so difficult to make the playoffs at that point. I think Melo takes off his maybe stance with jersey and says outright no

Heat: Melo sees the heat's big 3 continue to destroy the opposition and melo feels he has no choice but to team up with Amare and Felton

Denver: at this point they know Melo is leaving but what if they start playing at the same level as the Mavs, Spurs and lakers? does Denver stop taking phone calls and try one last time to win a championship? let's not forget Kenyon Martin and Chris andersen are back so they are finally full strength and could go on a nice run going into the all-star break and trade deadline

The Nuggets have to know by now there is 0 shot at winning a title this year. If they hold on to him for one last year of playoff revenue, that is one thing. Championship is not happening.

Give me a Legit Reason why this cant happen

AR, Ecurry, Gallo, Mozgoz and Azu going to Denv for Melo and Nene i think i would even flirt by giving up Fields OR Chandler and replace 1 of them with Azu

We get our Superstar and a Mike D type of Center, with this trade we can also pick up a MLE player to upgrade our roster. Maybe Crawford? TyChandler? Dalmbert?Tmurphy?

That would be great. But that trade will never happen. We are going to have to throw in Chandler for that to work and maybe AR.

If we can get it done with just AR then im all for it. I have been wanting Nene this season, he has been a beast. If Denver wants to rebuild then they may want to trade him becaue of his contract. Who knows :dontknow:

Being able to add a player in the offseason for the MLE would be great for next season. Im concerend about Nene's injury wow's though. Thats a lot of money to pay a player who is injured most the time.

Hey thats what i wrote, Throw in AR. Ecurry Gallo Mogoz Azu.. If not then rplace Azu with Fields or Chandler... And if Nene gets injure he will just be here for 1 yr. Besides with Amare/ Nene Ronny and maybe Wilson chandler Nene wouldn't have to play so many mins.

Gallo, AR, and Curry is already considered what we believe to be our offer for Melo alone. Now you're asking them to give up Nene, their second best asset and best big man, for just Mozgov and Azu? I don't think they'd even accept that deal with Fields or Chandler replacing Azu. They're actually better off just shipping Nene in a separate trade than try to piggyback him to a Melo trade.

Nah i think it can happen. Donnie refuses to give up so many assets to get Melo, maybe with Nene a needed center that can play in this system he would pull the trigger. Besides if Denver do decide to trade for Nene it would b for Exp contracts and pick, I doubt any team would do this, Maybe Mia and Orl, but we would have the better deal IMO
