I have research that trumps your research. It's $9M guaranteed. And I guarantee the guarantee. You don't have to believe me. You can stay in ignorant bliss if you like. But you're wrong.

Sham's numbers are incorrect.

if he has an ETO which thus far I haven't seen yet. His Player Opt year is 2012-2013 the same year Rip has a potential unguaranteed year.

CP3 has until June 30 2012 to decide what he'll do with the Hornets if not sooner by demanding out or signing an extension anytime prior to.

your own site says its partially guaranteed

http://www.pistonpowered.com/salary-chart/

"Richard Hamilton

Richard Hamilton signed a three-year, $37.5 million extension in November 2008. The third season is guaranteed for $9 million until July 1, 2012, and the contract also contains $150,000 in unlikely incentives, according to ShamSports.com.

His cap hold following the final season of his contract will be the maximum salary – the greater of $14 million or 35 percent of the salary cap. Because the salary cap has yet to be determined for future seasons, $14 million will be used when computing team salary with options and holds."

Stat speaks for itself. Do you think it's a positive development that his blocks against are going up? That's a good thing to you?

its his style of play, factored in with him being sick for a period of time, missing games for various reasons, etc.

i just find it funny how people are trying to turn on him b/c of current news not rumored to be landing in ny

i agree with you its a bit silly how some people throw up the walls quickly. i completely agree with you that to take the next step and become a championship contender, we need melo, and should do almost whatever it takes. its just too bad we haven't been given a chance by denver.

Is the Nets deal really that much better than the Knicks would offer RIGHT now? It is peciluar for the Nuggets not to be talking with the Knicks as well, that part is still driving me nuts. Is it really because of the Melo demand Knicks stuff, and the Toasting crap at Melo's wedding by CP3.

My first post is years wow, glad to be back on realgm. I forgot my password then it suddenly hit me like a bag of bricks anyway. You leave too much of a chance of letting Carmelo go into free agency you go get him if you can trade for him. Its a game of chicken between Denver's front office & Carmelo. We have the assets to acquire him it just sets a bad precedent that a player can say I want to be traded & chooses the place then the team actually letting it happen that's why Denver's playing hardball. We'll see what happens though....

honestly, i think it might be. im pretty sure kroenke was at melo's wedding when it happened, so i can def see how that could piss him off. pretty disrespectful, even if it wasnt meant to be, you can see how an owner who pays this guy millions of dollars could be ticked off by it.

No way we get Melo w/o Chandler and Feilds .Maybe Turiaf is too much a but its just Turiaf he can be replaced over time . Getting Hamilton is kind of crazy but i was just wondering how we can get Denver a good pick

Seiously, Amare+Melo is not a good combo. Melo will take touches away from area and likes to score in areas Amare likes to play as well.

Besides you are already set at all positions except center. There is no need to add Melo really. Felton, Fields, Chandler and Amare thats 4 starters right there better get a center because you won't win a thing with gimmick small ball lineups in the long run.

Even though it seems like we won't get Melo, don't act like Melo wouldn't have helped our team. He would of been another key piece for us getting closer to contend.

I wanted Melo but, and I said this from the get-go, this idea that he's even close to lebron is absurd. He's not even close.

And watching him more closely this year, his ups are very disappointing. He gets blocked because he attacks the rim AND because he doesn't have good lift. That's a concern. So is his volume shooting and poor 3-point %.

And having watched Amar'e more closely this year, for obvious reasons, I think this guy is correct that he and Melo operate in similar areas of the court and are similar type scorers: mid-range jumpers and attacking the glass.

Nothing wrong with pointing that out. Again, Melo is no lebron. Not even close.

To be fair, if I could flip a switch, I'd probably still flip it for Melo because of the star power that would go with having two prime scorers. But if the Knicks can add a center and still keep Chandler, I wouldn't be too confident saying that this path ... our next Plan B ... won't work better than the Melo path.

That's simply my point. Melo is not lebron and losing him, while keeping our depth of young talent, could turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

Melo played superb ball when AI alleviated some of the pressure on him...his numbers declining a bit is more a sign that his team is relying on an aged Billups as it's second cog and teams can put more pressure on him. I think Melo/Amare would work very well together, the only issue would be that some of our favorite complimentary pieces would see their touches go down.

I would take on Harrington AND Rip's contract if we needed to. Though I don't want either of them, they would be helpful for this season.

In that same vein though, would he want Melo and CP3 teaming up together with the Nets? Makes sense why they are insisting Harrington be included now.

It's kind of funny, because if the Knicks got Melo, they likely wouldn't be getting CP3.

Wouldn't Gallo, Curry's expiring contract, and AR traded for a 1st rounder be enough to trade for Melo.
