Why would Morey want to Phuck himself? Because Lin told him too?

He had him at a cheaper number... knew that the knicks would match it because everyone knew and then at the last second changed it. Sounds like something only a shrewd GM who knew what he was doing could come up with. It's logic man.

New York Post itself also following... If that helps... I hope.

The one white knight of this offseason has been JR Smith. Took a 1year deal and gave us a big discount. As much hate as he gets for his act and as much as we hear what a good guy Lin is, JR ironically has been the loyal guy.

So it's no unheard of, just very rare.

JR was loyal for one year. Next year he will be getting a bid pay day. Also Jr's comments about Lins contract were motivated by his awareness that if they match lin it will affect exactly how much money he himself can get next year. he kind of threw his teammate under the buss with that statement for future financial gain to be honest not sure if that is "loyalty". plus it makes him look bad becuase Lin gave him a shout out at the espy awards the night before calling JR his teammate. yes jr was loyal to take less for one year and cut us a break but next year he will definitely get paid or will he choose to be loyal again and take less to help the knicks with there tax break? I doubt it. But neither did Lin and I never hated on him for that either. matter fact I smiled a little kid has balls. Don't get me wrong I am not hating on JR. I never hate the player I hate the game. But this whole Jr was loyal thing has me rolling my eyes a little.

JR knew he would have an opportunity to start here and starters make more money than bench players.

This is definitely Linsanity.

Off-season and off-the-court Linsanity.

But Linsanity nonetheless.

Just to be clear, at the end of the day, I would prefer the Knicks match Lin's contract. I'm just saying it will be annoying to have to continue to deal with all the Lin-obsessed posters/fans around here and NY for another three-years with their heavily biased, and very often one-sided opinions, and that is just ONE of the few reasons I'd be OK with the Knicks not matching.

No, but he had the first offer and knew the Knicks were going to match, so he signed the 2nd offer hoping Dolan would just throw his money away.

The first offer was pure speculation and in no way official.

ibraheim718 - why do you try to speak reality with people who have agendas? There was only one official offer. It's not fact that Lin went "back" to Vegas to negotiate a bigger contract. That's pure speculation.

It's like the same people keep posting the same speculative nonsense over and over, hoping that it becomes true or something.
