Yes

Are you still playing?

Not really. Kids and stuff. For a few years I did a show a year related to my job but that didn't happen this past year and I don't think it will again. Do you have a regular band these days?

 Are you kidding? I can barely deal with going to the supermarket around here. I haven't been to a bar or restaurant since COVID.

One of the great "under the radar" bands in rock. I stumbled upon this live gem of a concert. Audio only, unfortunately.

You're welcome! :D

Brothers Phil and Dave Alvin (The Blasters) are still making great music. I've been following this band since Day 1. (No old man jokes  )

I was a big CSN/CSNY fan from Day 1 since before that I really loved The Byrds (David Crosby), Buffalo Springfield (Stills and Neil Young), and The Hollies (Graham Nash). This concert from 2014 at LA's famous Greek Theater, is probably one of their finest shows from the later part of their careers. Still's voice is a little rough but Crosby and Nash sound great. Stills's guitar work is extraordinary.

Love this song! They have a bunch of good tunes. Been listening to Pixies radio on Pandora. Lot of great tunes on there. Cage the Elephant. Spoon. Cake. Silversun Pickups. Mazzy Star. The Misfits. The Pixies. Radiohead. Bowie. Talking Heads.

Perfect music to work to.

No. I don't have a band. I'm a one man fire pit/open mic hack. Last time I was in a band was 1993! Since then I have been playing with myself! :o I have jammed with friends bands but, nothing serious. Just **** around at their practices. Even that has been years.

Since I've moved down to NC, I've noticed a few things about people down here. Some good, some bad.

The people, overall, are a billion times nicer, and for no reason nicer. Complete strangers having long ass conversations. The food is also a lot better, but I gained 30 lbs in about 1 year because everything is **** fried down here. Got back down to 165 though.

But they suck at driving, and it's so damn slow.

But the worst thing down here is that I'm constantly ear raped by bro country, the worst music God has bestowed upon the earth.

This song gives me hope that there may still be some actual young talent still out there who play good music.

Thank you, wingo

While I no fan of most modern country music, I do love the old stuff (Hank Williams, Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, etc.) and I do like bluegrass. I would think you could find some great live music, especially the summer festivals.

Comedian Beau Burnham does this bit on modern country music from his Netflix special … hysterical.

My grandfather is in the NY country music hall of fame, so I'm no stranger to the old school stuff. I'm a fan of the old, real stuff.

A lot of the venues are opening back up. I'm about an hour and a half from Charlotte, and 45 mins from Danville, VA, and 25 from Durham. Plenty of great blues rock and bluegrass. Both of which is essentially my overall favorite.

Just always bombarded with the new country ****, whether it's a bar, shopping, or blaring down the street lol

My brother introduced me to Bo a whole ago. Didn't know he had a Netflix special, tho.

Yeah. It's a cluster **** down here.

Prioritize doing well on state testing vs learning (monetary reasons).

Such a shortage of teachers. 4 had to come out of retirement just to be in compliance. Special education is a joke.

But I'm also full Title 1. Our school is the second poorest out of 16 elementary schools.
