http://www.complex.com/music/2015/07/someone-launched-a-gofundme-to-help-make-a-drake-diss-response?utm_campaign=complexmag+socialflow+07+2015&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social
Meek HAS to do something...this is hilarious.
As of now, Meek has yet to respond to Drizzy (or even Safaree for that matter) on wax, but this donation page wants to change that ASAP, as they state that they want to help Meek pay for the diss track.
Honestly, that doesn't make a ton of sense. Meek is a professional rapper, which means he should have the proper capabilities to record songs whenever he pleases, but at this point, Meek might need all the help he can get. The goal for the page was set at $3000, but after 14 hours, they've currently raised a total of 10 bucks.

I'm really interested what Meek's going to come at Drake with. We don't care about the guns and shooters you got Meek. We know you're street. Give us something clever.

Let's do some uplifting too, this is hip hop's power for positivity and cultural impact being displayed at the present.

Earlier this month, FOX News anchor Geraldo Rivera said rappers like Kendrick Lamar have “done more damage to young African-Americans than racism”, but Cleveland State University students protesting against police brutality don’t agree, and have chanted Lamar’s song Alright after an alleged act of such brutality.
As Consequence Of Sound notes, footage has emerged of protestors leaving a Black Lives Matter conference and using Lamar’s single as their anthem.

I can get if you do but the way I feel about it is that with music you can literally just listen to the albums you love and not the rest.
Yeah, I get that approach completely, almost every classic album is a cohesive piece with themes, motifs and progressions. The best of the best sometimes NEED to be listened to whole in order to get the full impacts (Be is my holy example of this but more contemporary I'd point out Dark Twisted Fantasy and GKMC, for a bit older Illmatic and Reasonable Doubt). That said though, I like to look at an emcee's body of work like I'm reading the notebook they wrote their songs in. So I think putting together the best of's for an emcee is a necessary addition to the comparisons (how much you put on each variable is totally up to you).
Edit: And I totally dock emcees for poor performance but not by much. Jay's lazy ass lyricism post Black Album (mostly not all of his work since) has totally dropped him a tier for my top 15.
Woah... American Gangster is one of Jay's most lyrical albums and to me it's his 4th best (BP, BA, RD top 3). I mean remember No Hook?

Honestly I love it a lot and I love that Jay showed he could successfully pull off a focused concept album.

But I got the side eye for putting him top 10 already.
Kendrick is already one of the most influential artists ever and say what you want to about ToPAC but it's a classic as is GKMC and Section.80.

AG is the reason I said most not all. Kingdom Come, BP3, Watch the Throne...lots of lazy ish from him. He gets outshined on features too often post black album too. It was a big deal when Em and Mouse did it but no one even batted an eye when K-Dot and Nicki did it.

I don't place him yet, because I want to see longevity. But right now he's the clear leader of this era imo in terms of influence and quality. He's not shabby on sales either.

You weren't feeling The Renaissance? Probably the best album that came out my freshman year. Instant classic.
EDIT: Maybe Seeing sounds and The Cool Kids EP.

WTT was sad. I never thought I'd listen to a Jay/Ye collab album and actually think it would be better without Jay completely. Like did you really let a producer outrap you on 15 tracks? I also think Kingdom Come is underrated but lyrically it is very meh.

"How old that n***a mane?"
"That n***a bout 15 years old dawg."

Drake and AR-AB bout to call Meek's momma on the next track.

He cant say he's richer, he cant say he sold more. All he can say is street stuff and no one cares about that. He needs to come better.
