So that 1st half was definitely a putrid display of defense. Open 3s, open lanes and everything. So how's the impact of Rambis, the defense savant?

One thing I get from this is atleast Jeff's not going to shy away from confronting the team. Rambis probably was sitting on that locker room well away from the team.

Would Chasson get minutes at SG? If Jennings continues to warrant the minutes he got tonight, it may be hard finding a spot for Randle.

On a related note, I am starting to wonder if Hornacek strategically gave rotation spots to Holiday, Thomas, and O'Quinn to start the season as a symbol of "veteran" respect, allowing them more than a handful of regular season games to do what they had to do to keep their spot and not lose it to a "rookie" player who had outworked and outperformed them in practice.

That's how I'm assuming why Kuzminskas and Hernangomez received more minutes than all three tonight.

Hornacek could have potentially lost the respect of Holiday, Thomas, and O'Quinn in the locker room if he immediately played Kuzminskas and Hernangomez more minutes to start the season. However, since he waited until now to take away their guaranteed spots and minutes, they have no grounds to question or challenge him.

Looks like Hornacek finally earned the respect of the locker room!

Pretty fun game. Loved Jennings tonight and love that Nets fans were whining and complaining about him.

Hey Nuts fans, we WANT you to hate our players. Go back to New Jersey.

That's exactly what happened.

I was worried it would take 20 games of Lance though :o

Nice win, as expected.

It was good to bench Lance. Think jeff is learning.

Go with skill, chemistry, talent over guys who cannot play basketball but give "work hard". Effort can only get you so far when you flat out suck as a basketball player.

I still like KP running with Jennings and our Euro Bench players. Kp gets to be the main feature, and they have great chemistry.

Melo looks amazing playing the 4. Keep him there.

Will take the win... but we beat a beat up team...also we need to continue to get better on defense... J.Ham went off too much (on KP)... even with Noah, still feel like we are missing that interior rim protector and strong rebounder.... hope Billy can continue to get stronger and grow...
*We have something going good on offense, potentially have two all-stars..

Love how the minutes on the bench was spread out... glad to see less minutes for Thomas and Holiday... and more for Billy/kuz.

Why do players need for the coach to snap at them before they get it?

I think it's a positive that we have a coach that is capable of "snapping". Fisher looked like he was asleep when he coached. So far this team can play defense for spurts, maybe a half, maybe a quarter per game of average to good defense. They need to bring that for full games every game before they can start going anywhere or thinking about playoffs.

If Willy doesn't become next Pau I will be very dissapointed. Their games are so similar - both have great hands, great footwork, great finishing around the rim and most importantly instincts off the ball. Lots of promises from 2nd rounder, Love it! Thank you Gaines

Way way more athletic and quicker Marc with worse defence, hmm maybe. Not to mention that Marc got to NBA when he was 24.

Anyways great prospect

Pau? Really? Pau is a hall of famer, bruh. Let the kid become better than Luis Scola before we anoint him as Pau.

Fixed.

True. Effort and hard work is important but you will find far more success when you combine them with skill.

I really liked Horny sticking with bench players and one of Melo/kp even tho I hate vujacic and prefer Holiday without a doubt. Maybe finally he got that our bench sucks big time and one of Melo/Kp must be on the court, probably not.

I liked Kuz but more than that I'm up for any possiblity that will prevent playin fuqin lance for 30 mutha fuqin minutes.

Billy looked nice but this isn't a game to really evaluate his game. He has a nice touch around to rim and he is active particularly on rebounds.

I really liked Rose too even tho he didn't play much. Watching him getting to rim at will is so refreshing.

I hope Jennings can get his scoring together but his passing was great.

We desprately need to make a trade to get some better bench guys even tho it's not likely to trade bench players to get better bench players. I always hated vujacic and thomas, before the free agency wished we had kept Derrick Williams, wouldn't solve all of our problems but at least diminish them by a little.

Anyway hope we can beat celtics while they are struggling greatly and start turning things around.
If you're just tuning in, tune out -JVG

I was pretty impressed with Hernangomez. If Willy can play like this consistently, Joakim has to go. He looked like Chris Webber with those mitts. Finished with both hands, made some great passes and caught some threaded needles. I'm looking forward to seeing how this rookie plays for the rest of the year.

Kuz imo showed why he hasn't been getting much burn. Against NBA teams with real wings, he seems just average. His shooting ability is pretty good. Good cuts. Just, he won't be effective until he acclimates more to the NBA.

Brandon Jennings is wow. Dont fall in love with the guy though, that fancy stuff works in the regular season, but it's not playoff basketball.

KP once again matches up against a 7'2" behemoth and it shows how far behind his body is. He's got distinct quickness and speed advantage, but he gets tossed around and bodied. Reminds me of Dirk in that regard. Hope he develops a bit more toughness, like KG, Pau, and other lanky agile bigs like him.

Melo showed flashes of the game that brought him to NYC. I wonder how many years he can keep going at this rate... He never really relied on his athleticism, and his strength is always going to be there. He might be good for another contract.

Rose is looking hella fast. He's not jumping out of the building any more but he is one of the fastest guards I've seen don a Knicks uniform. Ridiculous athleticism.
