Brooklyn leads series 3-0

Spoiler:
The Nets are just one win away from the BaF Finals after another win, this time at home, against the Pistons. Joel Embiid was fantastic once again scoring 32 points to go along with 13 rebounds and 4 blocked shots. Trey Burke (23 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists) again filled in well for the injured Ben Simmons. Nikola Vucevic scored 19 points to lead Detroit who came back from a 3-1 series deficit in the Eastern Conference SemiFinals against Milwaukee. They will need to win four straight, starting with game four on Friday night, in order to advance in this round.

Dallas 113 Sacramento 99
Spoiler:

Dallas leads series 3-0

Spoiler:
The Mavericks continued to steamroll their way through the Western Conference playoffs with an easy 14 point victory in Sacramento. Dallas led 30-16 after one quarter and never looked back. They opened up a 27 point lead midway through the third quarter before the Kings cut into it with a late run that never threatened Dallas. Giannis Antetokounmpo was once again the star of the game with 28 points and 10 rebounds. Dallas also got solid contributions from Darren Collison and Jrue Holiday (17 points apiece), Bradley Beal (14 points) and Trevor Ariza (11 points). Dallas shot 57% from the field for the game. Enes Kanter scored 19 points to lead the Kings before exiting with an undisclosed injury. The Kings will look to recapture the same magic they had last round when they came back from a 3-0 deficit.

Brooklyn leads series 3-1

Spoiler:
Detroit stayed alive in the Eastern Conference Finals with a 101-99 road win in Brooklyn. The Pistons found themselves down by 18 points early in the game but were able to whittle the Net lead down to just 4 at halftime. The Detroit defense was the difference in the second half as they held Brooklyn to only 38 second half points. Klay Thompson was the driving force for the Pistons, scoring 27 points, shooting over 50% from the floor and making 5 three pointers. Al-Farouq Aminu contributed 17 points off of the Piston bench filling in for a once again subpar Nikola Vucevic, who scored just 12 points on 5-16 shooting and was desperately outplayed once again by Joel Embiid. Embiid scored 43 points (33 in the first half) to go along with 21 rebounds and 5 blocked shots in the defeat. The series heads back to MoTown for game five on Sunday night.

Sacramento 109 Dallas 102

Dallas leads series 3-1

Spoiler:
Kyrie Irving dominated the Mavericks scoring 33 points, and adding 12 assists, 7 rebounds and 3 steals and the Kings were able to keep their season alive with a must win victory in game four in Sacramento. A Trevor Ariza layup put the Mavericks ahead 99-97 with 2:43 remaining but Sacramento ended the game on a 12-3 run. James Johnson scored 19 points and Ricky Rubio added 18 for the Kings. Bradley Beal led the Mavericks with 23 points in the loss. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 22 points for Dallas who will head home trying to close out the Kings who will try to repeat the magic act they pulled in the last round against Portland when they came back from an 0-3 series deficit.

Detroit 107 Brooklyn 95
Spoiler:
Image
Brooklyn leads series 3-2

Spoiler:
Detroit was able to stave off elimination for the second consecutive game thanks to a solid defensive effort in the second half. Hosting the Nets on Sunday night, the Pistons were able to limit Brooklyn to just 44 second half points, 17 in the decisive third quarter that saw the Pistons turn a two point halftime deficit into a ten point advantage. Nikola Vucevic finally showed up for the Pistons having his best game of the Eastern Conference Finals scoring 27 points to go along with his 11 rebounds. Vucevic and Markieff Morris were also able to limit Brooklyn star center Joel Embiid to just 22 points on 7-18 shooting. Klay Thompson added 26 points including a couple of clutch three pointers just past the midway point in the fourth quarter after Brooklyn had cut the Detroit lead down to four points on a couple of different occasions. Victor Oladipo scored 28 points to lead Brooklyn who also got 23 points from Trey Burke. The Nets head back home for a crucial game six on Tuesday night trying to close out the Pistons hoping that the third time is the charm and trying to avoid a trip back to Motown.

Dallas 100 Sacramento 84
Spoiler:
Image
Dallas wins series 4-1

Spoiler:
The Mavericks made sure that there was no more magic left for the Kings as they jumped out to a 35-16 first quarter lead and never trailed throughout their series clinching victory in game five in Dallas on Sunday night. Dallas showed everyone just how good they are as their starting trio of superstars (Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bradley Beal and Jrue Holiday) struggled to score, putting up just 39 points combined but still the game was never in doubt. Dallas was led by the bench contributions of Darren Collison and Jeff Green, 17 and 16 points consecutively. The Maverick defense was also key in the win as they held Sacramento to just under 36% shooting for the game. Dallas advances to the BaF Finals for the second consecutive year and hope to win their first ever BaF championship when they take on the winner of the Detroit/Brooklyn series.

The other seven Nets combined to score just 19 points. Klay Thompson led the Pistons with 17 points as their season comes to a close two wins short of the BaF Finals. BaF Finals- GAME TWO
Dallas 116 Brooklyn 108

Spoiler:
Image
Dallas leads series 2-0

Spoiler:
The Mavericks closed the game on a 15-0 run over the final 1:54 to take game two and hold serve at home. Brooklyn led 108-101 after a Victor Oladipo steal and dunk with 2:13 remaining but stingy Dallas defense made those points the last ones that Brooklyn would score in the game. The games most important stretch began with a clutch three pointer from Darren Collison (15 points/11 assists), starting in place of the injured Trevor Ariza for Dallas, which cut the Brooklyn lead to four. After a couple of missed free throws by Brooklyn center Joel Embiid (22 points), Dallas cut the lead in half thanks to a Bradley Beal (28 points) layup. Dallas tied the game on their next possession thanks to a Cody Zeller short jump shot with :44 left. Jrue Holiday (14 points) stripped Victor Oladipo (25 points) and scored on the fast break to give Dallas a lead they would not relinquish. A few more Brooklyn misses and turnovers and Dallas free throws sealed one of the more entertaining games of the postseason. Giannis Antetokounmpo led Dallas with 42 points and 17 rebounds. The series will head to Brooklyn for game three on Wednesday night.
