But Blatt having coached internationally doesn't mean he has international scouting experience anymore than Phil Jackson having coached in the NBA mean he has NBA scouting experience (as we saw).

It typically means that he has an abundance of international contacts. To say that it doesn't help is a little... careless?

So it took Mills 17 years in charge to finally realize that he needs to hire a guy who...once again...isn't a scout or a front office person...to help him with getting international contacts? Mills biggest skill is supposed to be that he has vast reaching contacts already.

I know you guys want to wish that this is a good move but how many times do you need to wool pulled over your eyes by the the smoke and mirrors man to realize that this is just another boob move by a big boob?

The move could accidentally be good if Blatt has euro contacts, plus whatever general bball acumen Blatt brings.

I definitely agree with this. I have no idea what it means. Dolan was willing to bring him aboard and he is Mills' guy. That makes it seem like Mills is still the guy going forward. It might mean reduced autonomy for Mills, though, since he now has to consult with Blatt. Still, it's his friend and a guy he respects so I don't think it's really that painful. It seems that Mills isnt as far out-the-door as it seemed.

I can't see how this helps save anyone's job. I just think the Knicks had a chance to do right by someone people in the organization like while getting the added benefit of additional euroleague connections and knowledge. The only problem is that this reveals that the hot seat isn't so hot for Pills, but I don't think this action in a vacuum moves the needle either way.
