The only way they would trade him is if he gets fed up with the losing and demanded a trade. But even then, because of the direction they have chosen, I'd think they would try to get another star back or a somewhat proven young player(s), instead of draft picks

Those unnecessary minutes are starting to haunt the Knicks players.

Thibbs is more to blame for not adjusting some of the starters minutes and continue to start Payton.

How can you win the race to make the playoffs if you don’t change your tires during the last laps of the race?

There’s only 8 spots to make the playoffs and the focus is to finish top 4 on Thibbs unrealistic coaching style of minutes.

We had the chance to trade Randle but failed and I believe we still can trade Randle during the draft.

I think Orlando has a better chance at acquiring a superstar in the draft than we do. I’d rather be in a position like them where they’re bad enough to have their fortunes changed in the draft than us building around an inefficient player in Randle hoping that we make make the playoffs just to say we did.

Dallas is just a better team. They had 2 of the 3 best players in this game. And the 1 the Knicks had underperformed. Also, the Knicks have nobody who can even slow Luka down, it was too easy for him (granted, that could be said for most teams when facing Doncic).

I mean that's true for most teama/players but not a Thibs coached team. Randle, RJ, Bullock are dead.... The defense we play is crazy effort at all times.

Thibs roster and minutes usuage is the most insane thing I've ever seen. Playing players by the Q...? Elf the entire 1st... Just so ridiculous. Playing every starter with eachother. No staggering. How tf is IQ supposed to get into a rhythm when he plays the weirdest **** minutes of any active player on the team.... Not talking about guus like Obi, Frank, Knox

Same pattern as 2020, 2018, 2017, and 2016.

Playing the sh*t out of veteran rentals in a desperate delusional hope to make the Playoffs, while A) saying F*ck it to draft position in a loaded draft; and B) not giving a single F about your recently drafted low lotto picks.

Same story, just more "successful."

Next phase: Missing the Playoffs and Leon feeling intense pressure to trade for a "superstar" since we certainly won't be drafting one or signing one in FA.

What veteran rentals are you talking about?

We have 5 players with multiple years contract in the rotation: Randle, RJ, IQ, Mitch and Obi.

We have more 2 players with early bird"s rights that probably will stay for next season: Bullock and Rose.

We have 2 veteran rentals that don't play as rentals aiming for stats. Taj and Noel play for wins and for the team.

Its only 2 rentals that I think we dont get them back next season: Payton and Burks. And Burks is playing very well.

Is Brunson an unrestricted free agent? He’d be cheaper than Ball and could improve in other areas

I think it's the same situation as Mitch. He can be RFA next offseason if his option is not picked or UFA in 2022 if he doesn't get an extension.
