not only would we get a chance to see what the young kids can do w/ extended minutes, but it would also improve our potential lotto odds
Thibs would rather quit
cool, promote Bryant or Payne
let's see just how much Thibs wants to coach the Knicks, after all it is his dream job
I just hate that we don't develop our young players. OKC is managing to get all their young players ample playing time while still being somewhat competitive

Yeah....the trade deadline came and went and so did any excitement involved in watching this team. I have ZERO desire to watch Rose/Elf/Taj play over Frank/IQ/Knox/Obi. Burks and Bullock should have been traded... Elfturd should have been cut.
Fool's gold rooting for wins this year. Damn team just refuses to respect the draft on any level and refuses to acquire any semblance of an actual PG. So disappointed and bored.

Thibs was doing this short leash sh*t to Obi all season, now he's doing it to Quickley too.. its just not a good way to help get young guys confidence back when they know ONE mistake and they're on the bench again..
I'm just at a **** loss for words man.. U have a talented rookie and u stunt his growth for a pg that is gona be in china in a few years.
Let’s not fool ourselves. We’re about to give him a 4 year deal

he's not an awful coach by any means, his teams show improvement
Atlanta improved each year under Woodson and after they didn't renew his contract, they went from 53 wins (Woodson's last yr) to 44 wins, to 40 wins (2nd year w/o Woody)
he took a Knicks team that was 18-24 under D'Antoni and they went 18-6 the rest of the year

This is true. I think the main they also want is for the younger players to play more and for dudes like Burks Bullock and Payton to start getting phased out.. the FO should consider this with the playoffs fading. Since they didn’t bother making a move at the deadline I’m guessing maybe they could be in on wanting to see the youth play more down the stretch

We had legit reason to be a little happy. Now we don’t share the ball and never play IQ and Obi extended minutes in favor of bum vets. No reason to be excited besides RJ.
IQ was a big part of our success now he doesn’t play more than 15 minutes, rookie wall or not. Forget defense, you need scoring. Randle and Payton don’t play defense so Wtf...

Cant believe Knicks are tanking RJ Barrett out of top 25 under 25 lists

B: Melo | FVV | Rozier
B: J. Green | Donte | N. Clifford
B: Herb | K. Oubre | B. Hield
B: Zion | G. Yabusele | D. Jones Jr
B: KP | J. Huff

yes, many of us would like that so we can at least see what they have w/ extended minutes and no threat of being pulled after 1 mistake (which seems to be Thibs' MO w/ young players, even tho he lets Elf f*ck up constantly)
+ playing those younger players may result in a few more losses, which wouldn't be the worst thing. I'd rather be the 9-10th worst team than the 13th-14th worst. at least we'd have a bit of a shot at moving into the top 4....unlikely, but every lotto ball counts

Who still thinks Randle is the player to let Thibs build his offense around?

1 Quickley
2 Barrett
3
4
5 Robinson
Use Randle and a pick to fill one spot and then another plus Obi/Knox to fill the other.

I have no faith though. They'll end up keeping Randle and pretending he's a player he really is not.
Knox is probably done here. It’s year 3 and he’s getting DNPs. I actually thought he showed a couple flashes as he upped his fg% and was shooting 41% from 3 and playing a bit smarter but whatever. this is a win now vet heavy playoff team I guess. Good luck to him and Frank in future endeavors[/quote
Sixers fan here
I wanted us to trade for Knox prior to the deadline as he’s obviously on the outer at the Knicks and wouldn’t be too expensive
From what I have seen, the guy has got some talent and it just seems like a complete waste to not play him at all
How is he supposed to improve if all he gets is a couple of minutes of garbage time every few games?
Seems very strange to me

PJ Washington isn’t a bad 3rd big to add to the roster of CHA looks to move him for whatever reason
The kind of rare 1 BPG plus 35% 3PT big

I actually do like his game a lot, really nice 3&D PF, but RJ is the more talented player

Re: Knicks - Celtics PG: Do we need Woody back?
Hypothetical:
this offseason, Kings offer their 2021 1st (currently #10) for Julius Randle.....do you take it?
I'm a bit torn. I do like Julius now that he's a much improved (and now a +) 3PT shooter, and he's still young (26)
on the other hand, could be an opportunity to sell high and arguably it's better to give RJ the keys and surround him with a shooting (getting a true stretch-4 b/c even tho Julius a good 3PT now, he's still ball-dominant)
