Randle also had a horrible game, it has to be said.

He forced the issue way too much. As Ashley mentioned on the KFTV postgame, it's never a good sign when he starts playing hero ball.

RJ was invisible. So were Obi and IQ.

Burks was completely unreliable. Fournier never got it going.

Rose and Mitch are really the only two Knicks players who showed up.

that's the reality we have to deal with until we get another star in here. if on any given night the rest of the team gives us a brickfest we are going to live and die with randle hero ball. it might bail us out here and there but tonight it didn't.

Same goes for Quickley. They need to make the most of their touches.

RJ was forced fed into the offense last year. Kudos for being a 2nd year player and handling all the extra P&R opportunities he didn't really deserve, but it was almost Rookie Knoxian in approach.

Now RJ has to survive on innate talent and skills, and he's kind of lacking in certain kinds of physical ability (high jumper, quickness) and also kind of lacking a high a level in any bball abilities, other than being able to knock down static 3's. He's "ok" in other areas.

Fournier and Kemba were added to offset some of his liabilities, with the hope, I'd assume, he'd grow out of them eventually.
But so far this season he hasn't, and Kemba looks kind of washed.

I disagree. I think Rose is our best player, and he should run that two-man game with Randle to get some player movement and to infuse some sense of flow in our 4th quarter offense. JVG actually mentioned it in the Boston game, we always seem to get better shots off the pick-and-roll than Julius ISOs, where the offense goes stagnant.

Randle is inefficient from midrange and is not a good finisher at the rim. He's not good enough to warrant this heavy diet of ISO plays down the stretch. Let Rose initiate some more even if Randle's the one finishing the play.

At least that's how I feel about it.

Randle's not the caliber of player who can just carry an offense down the stretch like Kawhi, Melo or Durant.

Year 2 shooting was a fluke, he's shooting 25% from 3 this year. taking maple lance thomas instead of tyler herro with the 3rd pick set the franchise back another 5 years

Ordinarily, I like to reserve Lance Thomas for Obi, but I think the bolded is >>> Cadillac Ntilikina.

re: Kemba

he needs to be more selfish and take more shots. In each of the first 3 games he has taken exactly 8 shot attempts. He shoots less than Elfrid Payton did, who shot 10 times a game. If he's that big of a non-factor on offense he's a negative player. He looks like he has the capability to score when he actually tries

Man, I had such high hopes for RJ but dude has been terrible the past 3 games.

RJ, Kemba, IQ, Knox, Noel and 3 first rounders for Dame/Ben Simmons?

I cannot believe Elfrid shot 10 times a game.

As Pat Riley said, live by the 3 die by the 3. I actually like that we are taking more 3s but there will be games like this
Mavs
C: Horford | Goga | Paul Reed |
PF: Lauri Markkanen | Randle | Tucker
SF: Trey Murphy | Trent | Anderson | Simone
SG: Vassell | Trent | Livingston
PG: Spida | Mann | Deuce

If there going to shoot this many 3’s fine, but they need to be able to find ways to score if the 3’s aren’t falling especially against an awful team like the magic. That’s where Kemba and RJ need to be contribute more

well someone has to say it, I never in my wildest dreams thought this team would find a way to downgrade from elfrid payton but the early returns look like they've done it
