Burks, RJ, Cam, Fournier, Grimes, and Quick once Rose/Kemba get back

Need to see more moves to clear that out.

Probably more deals coming. I can see them getting something for Burks

Watch what happens next

Knicks send Randle and Fournier to NO for Zion and gumbo

And

Zion promptly blows up Voodoo Donuts in downtown Portland and drops 70 pounds by the end of January

Probably had a kinda short leash in ATL cuz of the plethora of wings they had and could only get 30 mins when he was going off.

yeah, lot of guys in front of him. kind of the same thing here though.

They implied Grimes for Cam almost happened lol!

Who? And where?

In this thread, didn't someone say the Hawks wanted Grimes but 'a couple of people' objected. There's no way you should even consider that deal.

Now that he’s a Knick, all is a wash and I’m willing to see what’s good with him. Still don’t think he’s some “star” player in the making but he’s definitely an upgrade over Knox and good to have around RJ as RJ continues to progress towards that next step.

This is the boat I'm in. Cam was trash at Duke, was trash in his rookie year, and has just moved above trash this season because he's shot the three pretty well.

But he's unquestionably got tools/talent/pedigree, a huge ceiling, didn't cost any premium assets, and is now a Knick so I'm happy to root for him.

The improvement we've seen this year is what I'm going to be holding onto crazy tight. It would be dope if working with Bryant unlocked him further and he became a legit starter.

If we can just get a 3 and D guy I’m good. He doesn’t have to be a star in the making.

If they want Cam to get minutes, somebody's gonna have to play less.

Maybe it's Obi. Maybe it's Grimes. Maybe it's Fournier. Maybe it's IQ. Someone's gonna lose minutes.

The most far-fetched scenario is they're thinking of selling high on RJ, but that seems unlikely.

i think it's obvious thibs doesn't like obi much and obi is a little unhappy with his minutes. cam more of shooter too. maybe they'll try noel & obi for turner.

Cam good shooter to space the floor for Obi

Cam missed last game because an ankle injury? Is that serious or was that cause they knew the trade was coming?

Or they give him 30 to 40 minutes when he produces pretty damn well, but only give him 20 or less when he absolutely sucks

I haven't seen enough to say which it is, just putting that out there as a possibility.

Games where he plays 20 or less , he has to share the court with Huerter, Bogi and Gallo. The times he plays 30 mins or more , it’s been most of his teammates were in covid protocols.

I don’t watch much ATL games but I caught his game against the Bulls a couple weeks ago and he was lighting them up like crazy. The talent is there.

Why do I not feel confident that Marc Berman's insider view of the Duke lockerroom is accurate or reliable.

Also buying low on underperfoming high end talent is a legit perry specialty, the only difference here is cam never played for him

I love this trade on the surface...but this will be a fascinating year and a half tryout to watch. Thibs will attempt to squeeze the lunkhead out of Cam's brain and turn him into a strong, reliable contributing member of a basketball team. Either Cam buys into what Thibs is selling or this just INSTANTLY became our coach's least favorite player.

Playing time will probably tell the story of where this goes. If Cam doesn't see the floor, it'll be because Thibs feels he can't trust him out there. There is more than a decent chance our coach may like Solomon Hill more just because his play is more predictable.

As a fan, this is super fun. The potential of what this trade implies with the Duke trio is exciting, and it's really great that the Knicks are taking some high-risk, high-reward swings. Too often this franchise has stood pat when they needed to make a move.

Lastly, I'm elated Knox is gone. It was painful to watch him play. Hoping he continues to develop and wish him all the best, but happy it will be elsewhere to help round out the Knicks roster with potential contributors.

Grimes and Reddish playing defense on the wings off the bench together can be really good
