The Knicks absolutely have to do this!!

But what if another team gives him the same contract, but without the incentives? Would you let that stand in the way of retaining OG? The most impactful Knick in the 2nd half of the season, everyone got better, even Brunson took an uptick.

My feeling is that OG and Rose have a good contract laid out already. With perhaps All-Defensive honors in play, easy to obtain and tied into games played.

Yes, they should pay him. He is the reason why the Knicks went from a mistake prone team that comes up short in the clutch to a team that closes out games and wins. I get that injuries are a slight concern, so some incentives for play time would be appropriate, IMO, but the Knicks CANNOT blow this after trading for him just last year and seeing the impact it had on wins/losses.

OG is gonna opt-in to his final year and then extend (like Josh Hart did) with a player option on the last year. Gives us flexibility and gives him risk-protection while allowing him to take advantage later when the cap spikes to higher levels.

I'm seriously hoping that is still a possibility. Would love it if he opted in to save us some cash this year. Guess we'll see.

One projection I've heard is 4 years $140 million with some incentives. Would make him the highest player per AAV on the team.

Four years, $145 million. The last season is guaranteed if Anunoby reaches a games criteria.
...
For example, the first three seasons of the $145 million contract would be fully guaranteed. In the event Anunoby plays more than 65 games in any of the next three seasons, the $40.1 million salary in the fourth year would become guaranteed.

I think he gets more than that, the Sixers could offer him 4 yrs $181.9 million.

We're going to have to pay to keep him, as I think the Sixers will strike out on PG13.

The Sixers will be working with the same apron implications as everyone else. So I'm not so sure they'd go that high to be very honest. There's been a lot of chatter about teams not willing to pay players that are kinda in the category below the superstars a lot of money due to the new CBA rules.

Part of me wants to trade OG for Ingram in a sign and trade. I don’t trust his health.

Is he worth $35-$40 million?

No.

Do we have no choice since we traded one of our big trade pieces (IQ) for him?

Yes.

Thanks for a fun watch. Besides the expected blocks steals dunks and threes, there are a number of sweet dish offs mixed in there. An underrated part of his game. I hope he can play 65+ games next year to finally get a deserved first team All Defense nod
