1. Trade KAT and our 1st round pick for Giannis. I love KAT but its Giannis we are talking about here. He is a defensive force as well as just amazing 30 pt a game scorer.
2. Trade McBride and whatever else to bring DiVencenzo back. He is not having a great year there and they may be willing to take McBride since he is better defensively. If DD gets back playing like he did here , he would replace KATs 3 pt shooting for us quite nicely.
3. Keep Delon Wright. He really is a great Thibs system defender and he showed a decent enough 3 ball here. He has length and can ball handle.

1. Giannis > KAT, but you'd need a stretch 5. Mitch/Giannis/OG is just an upgraded version of Mitich/JR/RJ with similar pacing. I'm not a Turner fan, but he'd be perfect next to Giannis.

2. They love DDV. DDV will look better when the PG position is resolved. Mike too old. DDV not a PG. Getting Deuce doesn't fix the PG situation.

3. I like him. I see him here over Payne unless keeping Payne here meant keeping Mikal on a low deal.

I don’t care about Jalen Brunson’s comfort. Trade Bridges, Hart and fire the dad if you have to. This team isn’t serious.

Giannis to New York is a must.

CBA is so darn complicated but I know KATs salary matches up really well for a Giannis trade. If Giannis wants NY maybe it could happen. DDV is languishing out there in Minny. Figure out a way to get him back and he replaces what we lost with the 3 ball with KAT. But most importantly get a good modern NBA coach to coach this team.

Giannis isn't saving this team with Thibs' offense still being ran.

The CBA is actually pretty simple.

1) you get capped at the 1st apron if you acquire a player via sign and trade or take back more money than you send out via trade.

2) once your past the first apron you must send out more money than you take back in a trade. Aggregating contracts in a trade triggers a 2nd apron hard cap

3) the third apron is designed to be so punitive that it discourages teams from being there. There is a 2nd set of penalties after being in the 2nd apron 2 times over a 5 year period.

Essentially, this is as close to a hard cap system as possible without being a hard cap. Which is why this knicks team essentially is working with a 2nd apron hard cap this year, followed by 2 years in the apron, followed by a potential mess after the 2028 season.

Get rid of Thibs, NBA boat anchor, and then get some competent height for the bench that the new coach will play.

Yabusele. No way is Philly able to keep him with their payroll. They got the 3rd pick too so that is even more salary.

Isn't he a C?

Knicks have 3 of those. Or as a Precious replacement at backup PF?

Looks like he'd add some passing and shooting from the 4/5 bench the Knicks don't currently have

Hart and OG are our best 3pt shooters in these playoffs (39% from deep).

I like Adams, Yabusele, Schroeder, or CP3 for the Tax MLE.

DDV ironically not only completes the Villanova quartet but he is a perfect fit for the only thing this team needs if they have a healthy Mitch: a true bomber from 3. That piece is sorely missed compared to last years team.

His salary next year is 12M

You give them McBride (4.3M), Kolek (2.8), Dadiet (2.1), and PJ (3.5) and the Washington (1st)

DDV added to this squad is an incredible final piece. He can be subbed for Hart in multiple line ups too making it a truly 5 out line up.

KAT
OG
Bridges
DDV
Brunson

2. Resign Delon Wright as a ball handling 3 and D guard with ideal length.

3. Hukporti as frontcourt depth to replace Achiuwas expiring contract.

4. McCullers as another rotation guy next year.

The Kings reportedly want to trade DeRozan, but I doubt we can get involved. He’s making 23 million, I think.

If we can get Divo back, it’s all good though. Else I’m still team Sexton.

I'd see him as replacing Precious in the 4/5 role

Knicks main needs are a playable, reliable backup PG
Tall wing vet that Thibs trusts until/if McCullars or Dadiet can fill that spot.

Knicks are going to retain Mitch for a year and have Hukporti, but since Mitch misses 50 games a year and KAT should probably be counted on missing at least 10 like most bigs, Yabu could make sense as a player who can see some time at 5, but still function as 4.

The CBA is actually pretty simple.

1) you get capped at the 1st apron if you acquire a player via sign and trade or take back more money than you send out via trade. Plus: using more than the MLE, getting a buyout player whose previous salary was higher than the MLE, using the Biannual Exception or using a TPE generated in the previous season.

2) once your past the first apron you must send out more money than you take back in a trade. Aggregating contracts in a trade triggers a 2nd apron hard cap. Plus: Using the TMLE or using the salary generated by sending a player via sign and trade to take salary

3) the third apron is designed to be so punitive that it discourages teams from being there. There is a 2nd set of penalties after being in the 2nd apron 2 times over a 5 year period. Staying 2 times in a 5 year period, freezes the FRP; staying 3 times in a 5 year period, that pick will be moved to the 30th

Essentially, this is as close to a hard cap system as possible without being a hard cap. Which is why this knicks team essentially is working with a 2nd apron hard cap this year, followed by 2 years in the apron, followed by a potential mess after the 2028 season.

DDV's playing so poorly for the Wolves, that they'd probably take back Deuce and Precious for him.
