Supposedly the Knicks could have gotten the necessary picks to satisfy the bucks but Leon didn’t want to go all in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The rumored 3rd team to provide the necessary draft compensation to the bucks would have been the Grizzlies with either Og and or mikal heading to Memphis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do think a lot of people undersell the importance for owners to be able sell tickets and concessions at their games. Not every place is like New York or Chicago that still sell out games even when the team stinks. I doubt Milwaukee has a bunch of transplants either so they can fill their arena with the fans of the other team like the nets can. Having someone like Kat in all the marketing material could help with a lot of the business side issues created by trading your superstar player. Doesn’t make us the favorites by any means but fans always tend to forget the business side of the nba.

nothing personal, jesus christ himself could have proposed that package and in vacuum/on its face it'd still be quite silly :lol:

if we make this trade we most likely use kat to retain depth, or trade mitch, hart, and one of the starting wings + as many picks as we can trade them

I like the team that we have.

I refuse to hold out hope for another player that won’t end up here. Those days are over. On paper, we have a legit championship contender. Let’s see how this plays out before we go down another rabbit hole.

Also, the league has changed. You can’t win without depth, wings and shooting. Even if you got another team involved to include picks, you would need to trade KAT, one of OG or Mikal and either Duece or Hart. That doesn’t make this team better.

Correct Leon isn't going to do all the legwork yet until he knows even what MIL wants. He rightfully got the sense MIL isn't in a rush to deal him now. But closer to the trade deadline or in the offseason that might change and talks could come back alive with a different sense of urgency.

Giannis wants to leave
MIL won't be good enough to win

The Knicks are one of the favorites to win the east with there current roster.

All this points to the Knicks being the least desperate to initiate convos.

Giannis is now doing his part leaking he wants to leave...now eventually MIL will get pressure to move him.

When that time comes I'm sure the Knicks will be involved.
