Re: New York Yankees Thread
Wow, so Chad Green "spit the bit" as George would say. So did Diaz for the Mets. Funny, the last time I saw them each pitch, they were lights out. Diaz struck out the side Saturday night on 10 pitches then gets lit up Sunday afternoon on what should've been another easy save against the Pirates.
I just saw it was Altuve. The problem is that Green should've never let it get to that point where Altuve could win the game. At least you guys hit.
Bottom line: no one is Mariano.

You know it's a loss when those people from the CBS years show up.

What do ya know get some speed guys and just make contact and put pressure on the opposing pitcher what a difference. What the hell took so long.
This is what I had said earlier you give Hicks that stupid extension, you just go the cheaper route and sign a Greg Allen type. Allen and Florial need to be in the lineup every day.

Once Thames gets his hands on them you know they'll all revert to sub .230 three outcome players though
But I will say I do like the energy the team has right now. Maybe they have a rally in them to get to the WC game.. Seems like their energy has awoken Stanton and Torres too. If we can get those guys going and Urshela + Judge back, then let Frazier and Andujar rot on the bench I can see us piecing together a nice cohesive 1-9 again.

Right Thames will want them swinging for the fences
Need to trade away Frazier, Andujar, and Voit they really arent suited to be backups, Gardner, Lamarr and Wade are better suited as backups, might have to attach a prospect to them as their trade value has gone down, see what you can get for them anyway. They are addition by subtraction, there are already enough DHs on this team.

I know what he did was inexcusable buuuuuut if the Dodgers want to desperately get rid of Bauer, the Yankees should go get him.

This team doesn’t need any more clowns than it already does.

I’ll take it. It’s a sign of life at least. Wish we hadn’t been in such a hurry to get under the lux tax, but baby steps

Re: New York Yankees Thread
I don't follow Yankee prospects or the arguments around them in terms of who is going to succeed or not, succeed at a high level etc.
Here is the trade:
https://nypost.com/2021/07/29/the-yankees-joey-gallo-trade-just-got-a-little-bit-better/
According to THIS list, this was the rankings of the players in the system:
https://www.mlb.com/prospects/yankees/
Josh Smith #14 - SS (A+ league)
Ezequiel Duran #15 - 2B (A+ league) - I think he's a converted SS
Trevor Hauver #23 - 2B/OF (A level)
Glenn Otto #28 - P (AAA)
It's a lot of prospects. Then again, The Yankees didn't trade the more highly regarded SS types, not anyone in the top 13, obviously, lol.
But I see another SS at A+ level, another at AA, another in a rookie league, and that's 3 out of the top 13
This is without taking into account 40 man roster stuff etc.
Hey, maybe the Texans won the trade. I have no idea anymore.
I should check out a Yankees board. Usually there is an argument that will rage when prospect huggers get mad any player in the minors is traded.
Still don't like another HR/SO all or nothing guy. Oh well.

Well I'd have rather they be sellers but hey if you are going to buy this is not a bad buy. Gallo still has another year on his contract so you're not getting a rental. He is a swing and miss guy but he's a swing and miss guy with on of the best walk rates in baseball and he is a high OBP guy as a result. Left side is a plus. His defense is a plus. He may be able to inject some energy into this team.

Yanks have some farm glut so I get being buyers, but I can see the argument for being sellers.
If they play like this next year, absolutely
