This is only tangentially related, but it's wild to me every time I remember there are quite a lot of people who can't visualize when reading books
Like, I've always been able to do that, and I don't know if it's a chicken or egg thing, cause I read a lot of books growing up, and I go in and out of reading phases now
Cause my dad can't do it, but I don't know if that's cause he was never read to growing up and never got into the habit, or if he could just never do it and as such had no interest in reading.
Two things I was shocked to learn:
1) not everyone can "hear" their thoughts
2) people can't visualize what they're reading.
That's honestly frightening to me.
On another note, I also "see"colors when I listen to music. Some songs sound red. Some green. It's kinda cool
I was blown away when I found out we live amongst people like this. Was envious until finding out they run scenarios and have emotional reactions to em. living in fantasies in their minds. Fcking wild existence.
