This is only tangentially related, but it's wild to me every time I remember there are quite a lot of people who can't visualize when reading books

Like, I've always been able to do that, and I don't know if it's a chicken or egg thing, cause I read a lot of books growing up, and I go in and out of reading phases now

Cause my dad can't do it, but I don't know if that's cause he was never read to growing up and never got into the habit, or if he could just never do it and as such had no interest in reading.

Two things I was shocked to learn:

1) not everyone can "hear" their thoughts

2) people can't visualize what they're reading.

That's honestly frightening to me.

On another note, I also "see"colors when I listen to music. Some songs sound red. Some green. It's kinda cool

I was blown away when I found out we live amongst people like this. Was envious until finding out they run scenarios and have emotional reactions to em. living in fantasies in their minds. Fcking wild existence.

Yeah, it's classified as a narcotic. It can very well be a mistake, but you gotta know what you're putting into your body. And I'm sure the league isn't sending these memos to go straight to the SPAM folder. Team officials should be ringing the bells, too. Could be a case where Portis just didn't bother to do his own due diligent, or he is taking it as a substance.

Right. My questions are:

1) How did he obtain that medication in the first place?

2) Why would he ingest -any- medication without looking it up? The league literally has an app that players can use to ensure that they're not taking anything banned.

I mean, I tend to chalk things up to incompetence before malice, so most likely BP did something dumb, but it looks crazy regardless

That doesn't track with human nature.
He knew, figured he wouldn't get caught or was above the rules, got busted.

It was ban last Spring. Not out of the realm of possibility that the prescription he had was prior to the ban and he just had maybe 60 pill supply, or it could be refilled easily. So it was legal at one point, then illegal after. If it's an honest mistake, it's a stupid one because this should have been flagged the moment the drug hit the ban list.

Depending on the shelf life of the medication i am not sure that prescription was filled last spring, but yeah that sucks.

The punishment just seems so harsh. Like 25 games should be for guys who do some really bad sh*t.

Portis is a guy i would want on my team so I feel bad.

But is that drug really something that gives him a competitive advantage?

I mean to your point, if he was abusing it, then he has way bigger problems than missing 25 games.

Maybe it'll get reduced? I just read an article that his assistant was involved and that was the person who messed up. When I read things like that, I'm leaning more so against Portis. I would assume the NBA did a thorough investigation. So it might seem more legit than I originally thought.

I can't speak of that specific drug, but when I took Vicodin back in the day, there were times I felt like I had a higher threshold for pain.

John Stockton averaged 13.1 ppg and 10.5 apg for his career (1686 games played over 19 seasons).

He only had one triple-double in his career.

I was rewatching some playoff game from 2001 the other day and I learned that he had his very first (and only) triple double that year at 39 years of age. I was bemused.

Have the Suns ever had a good game this season when they were on national television?

It's interesting when I think about books I read and how I pictured them, but then saw a movie version after reading. The movie kind of overrides the previous visual
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

is he taking anything different from other athletes?

is Adam Silver just giving him a pass?

I honestly think Lebron is driven to surpass MJ in anyway possible, or at least die trying
