Lin made absolutely nothing last season. Dude freaking slept on Landry's couch. Ewing on the other hand was already well off at that point. Big difference.

Don't give Isola that kind of credit.

Dude the point is the Knicks fan base has changed and were accepting of LIn doing that. Hate Isola all you want but he is right. Back in the day Lin would of been booed for not coming out and playing.

And he would be booed if couldn't run up and down the court. What's the point? To show pride? When he can't even contribute properly? It's not like our medical staff are anything special. They're a joke.

Sports fans are bi-polar. You can never do anything right in this town. Just look at the venom Melo and Amar'e is getting. The press will hate no matter what and casual fans will just eat it up. Look at how Ewing was systematically run out of town.

I agree. John Abraham was killed, but Lin got a pass.

I took it different..I thought he said that to point out that we were supportive of Lin. Knicks fans are like Heal up come and kick ass with us next season.

Yeah thats the point though. I never in my life would say " Hmm you know what, don't play in the playoffs when I am sure you can, because I want you healthy for next season " He didnt want to mess up him getting his fat contract. In the end, he got it. Even wanted more from the Rockets. Hes not as squeaky clean as people think

He might be a nice guy, but hes also a harvard grad. Hes not stupid. He knows how to make a buck

I don't think Knick fans changed, I think the thought was that the Miami series was over by then and Lin struggled so much against them he may have hurt more than helped at 85%.

Going old school in this case would be Kevin McHale ending up with a permanent limp for playing on a broken foot only to lose the finals. In this day and age, especially for a player like Lin with ZERO security for the future, risking permanent injury for a first round exit is **** stupid.

If you're Grunwald and you're filling out the depth chart, ask yourself ... ROUGHLY SPEAKING:

Kidd replaces Baron

White replaces Shumpert

Prigioni replaces Bibby

Who replaces FIelds? FELTON.

Lin returns.

JR returns.

You still haven't added any depth with Felton over what you had last season. He's just part of replacing the same depth you had last season. And even that depth did not last through the playoffs.

Probably best to relax.

Seriously, what a stream of BS from this guy. Felton is not starter quality and he shows up spewing a non-stop barrage saying he is superior to Lin. What a crock. The Knick's didn't get Felton to lead them to a championship. If they did, then this franchise just killed all of their hard work and I don't think even a Dolan hissy fit is going to let that happen. This Fisch dude is really talking crap.

How do you know we didn't? Unlike RFA, the public doesn't get the same price discovery that a team gets through negotiations with the player and his agent. We don't know what he was offered by other teams.

When did the deal get done?

And in this day and age with twitter and thing you would have thought we would've heard something no?

Idk man we get news of trade offers but do we ever get rumors of ufa contract offers for midlevel players?

Been gone all day- what the hell is going on?

We aren't matching the rockets deal for Lin and we traded for Felton(What did we give up and what's his contract look like)? This a nightmare.

We don't know if we're not matching the deal for lin but people are fearing that we did the Felton deal in lieu of matching the Lin deal.

- Lin likely not going to matched according to most NBA sources

- Gadzurc and Jeffries traded for Felton + Crazy Eyes...details of the deal not certain but 10mill/3 years looks likely.

i reckon matching or not all comes down to whether or not the knicks scouts think lin can continue to be a productive player. if they see him as a 15-and-7 guy, they will definitely match. if they think he is a flash-in-the-pan, they won't. i don't believe the money will be the deciding factor. or, maybe i should say, they expect to make-back the money if lin is good enough to stay on the court and contribute.
i think they will match, for what that's worth.
I dunno.

I would think about it like this...

Prigrioni replaces TD
Kidd replaces Bibby and Shumpert until he returns
Felton replaces Davis
Smith replace Fields
White replaces Walker

So y'all are fine with getting Lin back at what would essentially be a max contract ??

Factoring in luxury tax cap hit, his contract would cost roughly $50mil over the three years with $25 coming in all the last year.

I was hoping that we'll not match any offers for Lin/Fields, but that wasn't likely back then, now It so close to be true... It'll be like Christmas for me... what a twist!

Happy Knick fan here!

Idk where you came from. But you need to go back. Leave.

Why does every keep referring to prigioni as if he's actually going to get minutes? He hasn't played a single Nba minute, he might end up a practice body for his time with the Knicks

It's not really a max contract. It's just luxury tax money. Fans are only concerned with the salary cap.

Wow, what does Felton's deal look like? Is it a strong commitment?

I have a hard time believing we gave up on Lin. Wasn't his contract he signed with Houston friendly 4/28. This is shocking news.
