With Sims he needs to come in with some edge, some bite, some cheddar. Less deer-in-the-headlights. He's probably the strongest and most athletic player on the court whenever he's in the game, if he played more like a bad ass instead of a boyscout, it may actually do some good.

We should have Amare working with him on offense.
We also need to get Kurt Thomas back on the payroll.

for bigs it really is just precious or reed at this point.

Why not both?

maybe but you also have to consider would either want to come back as a 3rd string? Is there a better option or scenario for them for a pathway for more minutes elsewhere?

I just seems like the knicks are still looking trade front? Why else wait on Precious? Potential S&T scenario. Not using the TPMLE yet (when the guys that warrant that are probably more guards than bigs).

I still think things are playing out.

Also McCullers Jr and Hukporti haven't signed yet? Are we going to sign them to standard contracts or two way deals?

Probably, we will wait to Summer League to decide.

This is the ultimate. Sims has the body and the athleticism. Now obviously he's not going to be the next Big Ben but this is the type of mentality that I'd love to see Sims show even a little bit.

Athletically and physically he's absolute elite. 6'10" in shoes. 44.5" vertical. 7'3.5" wingspan. Broad Shouldered. Thighs like an NFL running back. God knows if he put his mind to working out like Ben how much he could actually lift.

Wallace just has a different motor and skill set. It takes a god given talent to rebound like Wallace and Rodman.

Sims has all the basketball tools and seems like a good kid, he just doesn't have any innate BBIQ - like, at all.

I have talked myself into Sandro. I think that depending on the money, I think we can offer Precious a better deal than other teams may want to. He deserves to come back for sure.

Nice breakdown of the options Knicks are looking at with Center/PF position (look to "CAP OR NO CAP? (4.0) - Backup Center Of Attention" timestamp in Pinned comment)

4-year or 3-year deal with a final year player option makes some sense.

Even if he did have a high BBIQ, he can’t dribble.

Brunson heard said he don’t care about being the best player on a championship team. Dude will probably legit be ok with scoring here and there and letting the rest of the team get numbers. He’s such a winner I wont be shocked if he signs it.

In thoery Marks probably wasn't going to take a "fair" offer for Mikal but we got it done. So there is always a possibility depending how bad we want Kessler.

Also Utah and Ainge are in a tricky spot...there roster currently isn't set up to be a tanking team...and they owe there 1st round pick to OKC if they aren't bad enough

UTA's 1st round pick to OKC protected for selections 1-10 in 2025 and 1-8 in 2026 (if UTA has not conveyed a 1st round pick to OKC by 2026, then UTA's obligation to OKC will be extinguished) [OKC-UTA, 7/30/2021; OKC-UTA, 1/4/2022]

Ainge certainly doesn't want to give up a valuable asset for the next two years...so he can play hard ball but if he continues down this path of not making deals or just treating the good players on his team poorly in terms of development because he wants losses at the end of the year players will leave.

we got it done because we were willing to pay what isn't a fair offer. even the pundits who really like the trade for us admit it's an overpay. there really is no other way to objectively see it. it can be a good deal and an overpay. gobert was an overpay but it worked out for them.

Bridges deal happened because the value of a Bridges between completing the chemistry of the Nova quartet and his absolutely perfect fit in a Thibodeau system caused us to pay a higher price than anyone else.

We basically have a more offensively gifted almost as good defensively version of OG. Two players that match up tremendously with the Boston duo.

We signed one of the best conditioning coaches away from Dallas.

THis team if fully healthy last year after getting OG , legitimately could have contended for the title.

Add Bridges now to that mix and we can definitely contend if our key players stay healthy.

I really want the rim prtoecting Center though as Mitch's health is probably the most shaky of all our players and we really need one for Thibs system. Right after that I'd love an older vet pure ballhandling 1 type to complement Brunson (until Kolek is ready)

That said my hope is: Kessler or Richards and then the other Nova guy Lowry or maybe DSJ. If we can pull those guys off , I absolutely love the make up of this team going into next year.

A lock down defensive team with enough offense to be legitimate title contenders.

Brunson will probably save us more money by taking a 5/220 deal next year
than a 4/157 this year
