Elf is a really bad combo of ball dominant can’t shoot makes stupid plays.

He’s not a playmaker — he’s a dribbler.

He can pass but not in a helpful way. He could care less about the Knicks. No way I accept this move.

It’s unacceptable honestly.

he had this article where he showed that mitch, payton & randle had this great team rating. then he looked at other lineups without mitch that contained payton and randle and they were mostly bad and lineups that contained mitch without them and they were mostly still good. he's not even being honest.

Elf/Randle/Mitch had a +8.6 Netrtg last year

Elf/Randle/Taj had a -7.3

Elf/Randle/Portis were -4.7

Its a preference which scrub should start but they all suck so its whatever

thats what im saying I don't care who it was. Its more an optics thing. We saw from last year he was about getting his along with randle completly ignoring other players on the roster. So if it was teague or Carter or some other bum I don't care. Just the optics of bring back nearly the entire same starting lineup looks horrible.

This still beats giving up all of our future assets for John Wall or some dumb **** like that, it’s not like we gonna world beaters next year anyway

That's not why many are upset. The fact of the matter is, even if he's coming off the bench, his presence will not lead to the proper development of our young guys. He doesn't spread the floor and has tunnel vision. This move just does not make sense at all - even as a stop-gap. Because frankly, he was one last year.

I know it’s fashionable to act like Payton is a completely useless basketball player but the fact of the matter is he’s the best floor general available...

Thibs needs an experienced player who knows how to run an offense, obviously they had to pivot cause plan A didn’t work out, but if you can’t get your guy you just have to stay flexible until the right situation comes

There could be trade for Lonzo Ball tomorrow, For all we know... y’all need to calm the F down

I mean, neither DSJ nor Frank are on the roster next year regardless

They're going all in on free agency, and both of them have 17 million in cap holds

Unless they sign a cheap extension, they're gone. My gripe is that we should've found a vet who can shoot to be stopgap for one year. Payton not being able to shoot at all is a huge detriment to RJ, Obi, and Mitch's development.
