 at D'Antoni knowing a special PG when he sees one. The only reason why he played Lin in the first place was due to pure desperation.

was getting so excited about next season gettg to watch Jeremy play the full season with everyone, transforming into a powerhouse.

I don't think JLIN is a 20 game wonder. He has what it takes to be a star in this league. Plus he steps up in the 4th quarter.

There are certain players who flourish in NYC and Lin is one of them.

Annoyed that it has gotten to this point. From reading th erockets forum, they are not even excited about getting him.

If Knicks let him go, it will be a big mistake..
If you read the real rockets board, Clutchfans, they are ecstatic. They say that they have Dolan's balls in their hands.

Just went there. Still lukewarm reception. They have no idea what he brings to the team. The kid can flat out ball. Smart. D'antoni knows a special guard when he sees one. To discount his record breaking achievement in his first start is dumb. Hope Dolan makes the right call. He is worth taking a chance on from both sports and business reasons.
Agree with all except the dantoni line. That idiot wouldn't even put him in when people on this board were beggin to get Lin a chance.
Yeah but once he put him in - he saw what this kid could do. He said recently that Lin was doing what Nash was doing.... We can't let this kid go. We pay 10 mil for some fat lard and we will let this kid go because of an extran 30 mil in penalties? Wouldn't some of that offset with all the business opportunities that Lin will provide?
"]
Isola basically calling Knick fans pussies for letting LIN off the hook about not playing in the playoffs
I agree. John Abraham was killed, but Lin got a pass.
It's a different situation. Football is one game. Knicks were down 3-0 by the time Lin chose not to play.

D'Antoni doesn't know chit. He buried Lin on the bench and was told to give him one more chance to play before the Knicks cut him and signed some other bench warmer.

You must have not seen the poll.

70% of people on that Houston board want to see Dolan refuse to match. They're all having a good laugh at NY's expense.

Me too. The brightest spot we've had in years and letting him walk?

We could always dump Stat in that third year, this doesn't make sense.

The reason I stayed up late (in Germany) watching games was because of Lin. No league pass next year if Lin is gone, I'll box score watch and then watch the Knicks get knocked out of the playoffs in the 2nd round....

All I gotta say is I have never seen a non-game thread explode like this. I would argue that the majority of us knicks fan want him back next year. That third year is a risk, but I definitely think it is a risk worth undertaking for all the upside he brings to the table. Lin will thrive in NYC. Let's make it happen

Then they might as well enjoy themselves and pat themselves on the back the next few days while they have a chance to feel so self-congratulatory in their little dreamland.

It's kind of funny how Knicks fans complain about everyone else's contracts, but then think it's absolutely insane not to match.

Surprised how many media pundits think the Knicks shouldn't match.

For the record, not that it matters, but I will be extremely pissed if we don't match yet I'll watch every single game next year regardless.

This. Linsanity was one of my favorite sports moment ever. I too got the nba pass because of it. There is something about this kid that brings the masses to their knees. I don't know the last time I was so enthralled by nba basketball. It would be a shame if the Knicks let him walk

It wasn't even half a real season. There's plenty of reason to be hesitant.

Dolan and Grunwald cornered themselves into this garbage

They should have made the first offer for the highest dollar allowable, no matter how unlikely Lin would accept it; That way when Lin rejects it, the fans won't turn on them like this

They are now forced to match or they will face the wrath and most likely their stock will plummet as well as a portion of the fan base

Their plan to win a championship within three years will fade and the team will be nothing short of mediocre. Sure they'll make the playoffs but this bunch of misfits are not going anywhere without a unifying presence like Lin

I for one will stop watching NBA indefinitely if Lin is gone as it will be just too embarrassing, angering, and ridiculous to take (I'll still post here though for the lols and I know some of you are mad about this rofl)

pretty simply how I see it..

Felton wanted to be on the Knicks, they were his first choice according to his agent.

The Knicks have Gadzurichs unguaranteed contract that has no value to them but only has value in a sign and trade.

The Knicks went around to every team to try n sign and trade gadzurich for the best players on the market. Portland was willing to do a deal.

Knicks are in asset collecting mode. Next season there will be no Sign and Trades allowed. Must get all the assets now.

Here was an opportunity to acquire another quality player, who fits the NYK mold and wants to be here, available at the cost of just paying his salary.

If anything this is another indication that the Knicks do not give a sh*t above payroll luxury tax, cause Dolan just booked a backup for another 10 mil. He could've payed Lin's first 2 years with that money if it was so precious to him.

Asset collection is here. We need all the depth we could get.

Im expecting another bruiser up front for vets min (see KMART)

Lin/Felton/ Prigioni
Kidd/JR smith/Shump*
Melo/White
Amare/ Novak/ Crazy Eyes
Chander/Camby

Return to New York Knicks
