Nobody could've predicted the Mavs to be worse than 11, with Doncic there. Dallas tanking and keeping their pick with barely any punishment is criminal. Nothing the NBA says about trying to eliminate tanking can be taken seriously from here on out. Especially from Silver who was all about teams taking the play in competition seriously, to then just give the Mavs a slap on the wrist.

we fans are not idiots. when these trades happen and the media talks about all the numerous frps we have, deep down we know they're highly protected crap that isn't worth much. and guess what, other teams know too.

The Mavs had to game the game in order to keep their pick. There is always a high chance the Mavs are a playoff team simply because of Luka. Not even Dallas thought they'd be a worse team right at the trade deadline with the Kyrie Irving trade. They were making a playoff push and they thought Kyrie was the answer. Then when it wasn't looking like it, they started advocating in the last month to start tanking. All they got was a slap in the wrist for outright cheating the game. Top 10 protection is not a highly protected pick.

The crappy thing is that the Wiz pick -- which if they were healthy would have been teens for us -- is going to become 2 SRP as they tank for two years...

It sucks it's not a 1st to use or trade, but higher 2nd round picks have gained some value in the new CBA. I mean, if the Wiz are mostly tanking, these should be decent 2nd rounders.

Still, they are 2nd rounders, so really not that great
