People who didn't study finance should realize that msg doesn't lose real money if their stock goes down. Companies get money on their initial IPO. After that the company doesn't get as cut off any profits no matter how many times a stock gets traded.

I'm excluding stock splits fyi and buybacks

A) The uptick in stock price associated with Jeremy Lin; or
B) Not having to pay Jeremy Lin's salary + luxury tax?
