When Coach Klein was on the phone (with the cord already cut) with his grandma, wearing high heels and going "I hate him grandma...I hate him, I hate him, I hate him!!!" Those of you that have watched the movie know what scene I mean. Same way he was irrational in that scene, so are some of you guys now.

The detail of this post is hilarious.

If we step back and take a deep breath, isn't it the case that for the most part Bargs has played some decent basketball as a Knick? Certainly not stellar but some good moments, up and down, periods of quality play. The main problem seems to be that he hasn't been healthy.

his empty inefficient scoring numbers just don't make up for his historically bad rebounding, defense and general lack of awareness. the only good moments he has provided are the gifs of how embarrasingly bad he is. Just so I know its not all in my head, all of this is backed up by stats such as adjusted plus minus, defensive numbers, TS%, rebounding stats, win shares per 48 or pretty much any metric available as well as his teams records. They are all really bad. Even Landry Fields has him beat in almost every metric. At least hes a supportive teammate, more durable and has a manlier beard/stubble.

If we are building a new team and trying to change the culture here, Bargs is one of the last guys i'd want unless we are just using him as an example of what we dont want the team to be.

11th man? I guess i dont even care much. I am more annoyed that so many people seem to support this idea of bringing him back though. If we had an established team with vets then maybe he's worth a chance. But to keep him when we are building something new is just a bad idea. Some players just need to gtfo.

Hijinks wrote:yes, bargs is a pretty good low post 1 on 1 defender. we all remember the game, where he basically shut down dwight howard..

but, he is so terrible with help defense, it makes amare look like dikembe mutombo

on a one year deal for the vet min? ok, i could live with that. but anything else, especially a longer contract, HELL NO!

Amare says no....to playing defense

The issue I see is I don't feel that Barg is going to accept a lower contract while players like Channing Frye, Gortot, Al Harrington, Kendrick Perkins, Spencer Hawes, and several other players make over 5 Mil with yearly increases. Teams pay for big men in hopes for strong recoveries from they're old injuries. Do I feel he is worth more than 5, no. Heck I don't want to see more than 3, but we are known for over paying for scrubs. A healthy Barg 8 mil, as is max 3. I don't trust his health, but I do like his offense and off the bench his defense is tolerable. Hell we loved players like Novak.

jackson and Fisher need to decide if they want the best player or the best player for their system.

Like it or not, the triangle isnt for everyone. Bargs has had injury issues for a while now, but he has shown an ability to understand the system that they want to run in NY.

Bargnani is a 10 mpg player.

Anything more and he hurts your team.
