Hornacek didn't take this job to be in the lottery. He's got some ground to make up after his win-loss record as a coach took a hit this past season with the Suns.

Hornacek has two stars in Melo & KP, just like Toronto has with Lowry and DeRozan. I have no doubt that Hornacek is gonna put in some serious work his first year to develop a strong supporting cast.

ahh the ol bandaid on the deep wound, the knicks been doing this for 16 years now.

How do u know that?

because melo won't be here when his contract is done as he'll be old and not good?

then again i'm talking to a melo fan and not a knick fan, just like how i had to deal with marbury fans, curry fans, and crawful fans.

Good luck expecting the Knicks to draft another superstar. I'll be enjoying the playoffs

good luck expecting the knicks to be relevant, and you enjoy that 7th/8th seed with the first round exit.

i'll accept this as you having nothing to offer, so yes melo has no future with the knicks.

Even before the conference they weren't tanking.

Phil Jackson never intended to tank to begin with. His moves were to clean out the bad eggs and add veterans that are condusive not to a rebuild but to try to win games. Him picking Porzingis wasn't a sign that he's willing to rebuild. It was a sign that he didn't like anyone else in the draft enough and that he trusted his most trusted advisor (Gaines Jr). I mean even after the pick, notice how he tried to make sure that everyone knew that it wasn't his idea per se but that it was Gaines'. That's not a statement made by someone not worried about winning now and who's plan is to tank. Jackson is 70 years old. He got the richest contract in NBA history for an executive. You wouldn't be doing that if the goal was to tank. Anyone actually believe that Dolan would ok a tank AND be willing to pay $60 million to do it? What in Dolan's history indicates that doing things the right way was his way? Dolan has always been about immediate gratification.

We just hired a HC who took a supposed lottery bound team to 48 wins in a tough western conference.

Not sure team tank is gonna get what they want.

and what does .500 do other than a wasted season?

first round bounce and mediocre draft pick, but we want to establish a winning culture for kristaps. hey at least melo knows a thing or two(or seven) about first round bounces.

Not even sure why you posted this. It has NOTHING to do with what I posted. Zero...zip....zilch.

What is the point of winning games last season? Well...what would a winning culture be without...you know...wins? LOL not to mention our lack of a pick.

MY point is this team should have won more games last season. We hired a HC that took a lottery team to 48 wins. Tanking will most likely not happen. Those who are wishing or hoping we do will probably be disappointed.

They need a youngish player to pair with KP. No one in free agency this year fits. The focus should be building around him. Not Melo. If this franchise goes and signs Conley...........I'm going to be some :curse: . It just reeks of impatience.
I don't see what the big deal is if they tank and get one of those guards next draft. Like I said in another thread, if KP has a big time season next year, it maybe enough to lure a difference maker.

Tank and go shopping in a better FA class. Hope KP is good enough to bring in a difference maker.

LIke I said, I'am all pro tank.

Buuut, if KP is ready in the next year or so, to be teams best player and one of the best players in the league, then we can talk about something.

Melo would be an amazing 2nd option, probably best in the league (if the settles for the role, and thats a big if..),

Sorry, I just don't believe this team is going somewhere with Melo as a number one guy, and if KP needs some time to develop (as he probably does, but what do I know, I really thought he will play like Kaminsky did this year...), those years will be wasted and KP in his prime will be left with past their prime veterans on big contracts and some 2nd round young "talent" around him..

We are not getting the 3rd pick.

I would take 16+23+Smart+Nets 17 1st in a 3 way with Melo going to CLE and Love going to BOS

17 - SG/SF Denzel Valentine
23 - SG Malachi Richardson

Gives us this young core going into 2017 w/ 2 more lotto picks and infinite cap space.
PG Smart -- Grant
SG Richardson -- Wroten
SF Valentine
PF Porzingis
C Hernangomez

We will get the 3rd pick. Not because we are giving up Melo, but because it would get boston Blake. If you are boston, you are giving up the 3rd overall pick to get blake. It's not about what we give up, it's about what boston would get.

This conversation would have made far less sense had we not traded this year's pick for that POS.

As I watch these finals and see golden state blitzing Lebron with easy transition buckets and bombing him and the land with easy effortless 3s I see no reason to not tank , trade Melo & trade Lopez

i agree with this statement, but GS did not look invincible to me. OKC blew it in a microcosm of their season full of blown opportunities. but they were human.

if it bleeds, we can kill it.

this GS team has the makings of a dynasty, health provided. but health is no guarantee and they look human to me. damn, damn, damn good -- but human.

thanks for everything, thibs.
