Well Phil has been a good example of holding onto something too long, ie the idea of implementing the triangle. On the other hand, Melo does hold the ball too long as Phil Jackson was able to point out, and as the expression goes "It takes one to know one" so Phil can see someone else holding on to something for too long as well. :D

Utah a good fit for Melo the player, bad fit for LaLa the super diva.

It's really dependent on his son. He's not going to leave his wife and his kid. They're separated but they're still not divorcing. The article says that whatever happens their son isn't leaving NY. Just don't see how a trade is likely.

I wish people would keep things like this in mind when they bash people like melo and call him selfish for wanting to be in NYC.

It's not just the spotlight for most of these guys
It's their entire lives

Any breakup, separation, divorce sucks especially when kids are involved.

But you are making major assumptions here that possible trades played a part in his separation. And even if that were the case, he's not in a unique situation here being married and playing in the NBA and possibly having to relocate. It happens all the time and I'd think most marriages dont end up in separation because of it.

Best wishes to Melo in his personal life, but turning this into something about PJ or the fans is just misplaced.

How does that make you better than the Lin, Gallo, and Wil fans who root for them over NY?

You could guarantee Melo that he'd win a ring next year in Utah and he's still not going to go there. It's either LA or possibly Cleveland.

Don't give CJackson that type of credit. From what I remember, he was far from a bright cat.

Melo and Lala have always been incredibly public with building their brand.

When you are in the public you get a lot of perks of being a known name.

However when things go bad, you stay in the public. That's the trade off.

These two are fame whores and have relished their name in the media. I wouldn't feel bad for them now.

Rest assured, they don't care about any personal tragedy that happens in your life either. You're more like an ugly, poor bug to Melo.

You have serious issues

The first 3 sentences were reasonable enough, even though everyone might not concur. Sort of took a hard turn after that though! :D

Nobody even give a sh*t about KP anymore

Goddamn, you never know what'll happen with this team and organization from week to week.

Next week: "KP is rumoured to be dating a Kardashian" :eek2:

Then we'll HAVE to put his ass on the trading block.

These comments are getting more and more pitiful.

Insulting Phil Jackson based on how you imagine he thinks about the separation. LOL.

Not even spinning a real reaction from Phil Jackson. Creating a fake reaction you think Phil would have in your head and insulting him for it. That's insane. That's like when your girlfriend gets mad at you because you were mean to her in her dreams.

This is rich coming from you

DievsZingis wrote:Wow, this is terrible. The timing of it makes it seem like it has something to do with the fact that Melo might not be in NYC anymore. Man if that's the case, what a terrible decision by his wife.

I always thought the talk about LaLa wearing the pants and her being the root cause for Carmelo not wanting to go, or if traded only to a certain market because of her career, was hearsay, can't judge somebody on gossip. But her actions during this trying time shows that she is hung up on that ****. Shame. He seems like a good, level headed, laid back husband and a great dad, deserved some more support during these trying times from the person who he exchanged vows with.

"When the grass is cut....."

Did you really get all this from assuming fam?

No, just trying to put 2 and 2, doesn't mean **** what I think in the grand scheme of things, but as somebody who invested time, energy and money to support the man, I wonder what happened, it was nice to see a happy couple have their **** together in this day and age....especially somebody who you rooted for and whose name you had on the back of your clothing.

Things I've heard and seen seemed to have depicted that this would happen if Melo was to get out of NYC...and it's happening...so like I said in the quoted post, if that's the case...then I feel bad for the guy and think LaLa could have done him better. Even if she wanted to separate, I mean, was this really the right time, seeing the hell Carmelo is going through? She's a social media....lite...whatever they call these online celebrities...she had to have known that this was going to be a big deal, blowing up all over after everything that's happened to him this year professionally. And it could have been done secretly.....but look who found out...TMZ....social media whore central...not ESPN, FOX, Bleacher report, SI, etc....some trash celebrity paparazzi circus.

I don't know man, I'm weary of these social media celebrities....I'm more inclined to think that she's the one who is the problem over the man who has been nothing but professional and courteous in his time here. I asked, right here on this board, how can Carmelo, **** it, ANY MAN, be so shameless as to have his boss trash him publicly like this time and time again and still want to be here...the answer I got was because "he is all about his brand" "That's why he has a NTC...he's a greedy little ****...wants to make money in NY". I am inclined to believe now that he really is about his family, I've gained a ton of respect for him. I believe that he will happily go now wherever he feels fit...he doesn't have that string attached anymore.

Anyway, as you can see, there are a lot more nefarious assumptions here than little old mine

why is he a fool when nothing he said was wrong? the only fool here is phil jackson.

SAS history of dramatics is what makes him a fool to me. His style of journalism is just too complicated to take him seriously. Even if he has some good points. What he's saying about Phil Jackson, I'm not in dispute about.

Why is it even wrong to say melo and lala are fame whores?

Lala is the obvious one.

One thing that's pissed me off about melo since day 1, and I was still a fan of his then but this irked me, was that he would constantly talk about building a brand for his post basketball career.

Like he's always had his mind not completely on winning basketball but how he can be a celebrity.

Feel like his eyes have never been totally on the prize and he's facing consequences for that now. Rather than be obsessed with winning he's obsessed with his 25 pts a game stat and all star game appearance and the fame that comes with it. Winning comes 2nd.

When I first heard him talking about his post ball brand I thought there's a chance his biggest priority isn't winning basketball. Over the years it's been more and more confirmed. He won't play with a team philosophy on the knicks and he won't accept being traded to a winning team where he would have to change his game. Everything has to be his selfish way.

I don't want KP falling into the same trap. He seems to have developed an infatuation with hip hop lifestyle and instagram girls I find unsettling when you combine his flatlined progression and recent no show.

Honestly. This is a prime example of a lot of members of #teampeyote

you 2 are trying too hard.

So you're telling me, she can't be feeling some type of when every time a reporters asks him if he's okay with being traded, he immediately says something along the lines of, i have to speak to my family first? That is implying he wants to win a championship but his family wanting to be in New York is stopping him from going elsewhere and winning.

I'm not speaking in code.

every time i write something 3 people always feel the need to respond: moocow007, dakomish23, Greenie

You 3 need to lower the sensitivity on your spidey-senses.

It says a lot about you that you think a man could use his kid and wife as a scapegoat regarding basketball. You got issues if you hate a basketball player this much that you would say that.

and yet, I'm not remotely surprised that you tried to use this to bash Melo.

Pretty pathetic and like I said, even though you are like this I still wouldn't wish you being separated from your kids. That takes a toll on any good father.
