Ok.
Still not changing facts on their assets.

AD doesn't get moved to Boston without Tatum included. I'm too lazy to check, but everybody seems to indicate that the future Boston picks are superior to the future Knicks picks. Anyone know if that's actually true?

And he probably doesn’t get moved here without Zion.

or do we really like mudiay for some cockamamie reason???

Look at the type of guards this management likes.

Trey Burke, Emmanuel Mudiay, Dennis Smith Jr, Alonzo Trier, Tim Hardaway Jr...

All of them some scream inefficiency or inability to pass the ball.

You're assuming we can get him later. Waiting until the summer adds risk. If Boston is able to convince Kyrie and AD to sign with eachother, Tatum trumps our pick (which is projected to be pick 3.7 based off of odds). If Boston gets AD, KD is not coming without Kyrie and they'll create a dynasty. Meanwhile. Kawhi is not coming perioid. Klay and Kemba are staying put. We don't want Butler on a young team. Most overrated player in the world. So, I see it as:

Mitch
Someone on a good-sized 1 year deal
Knox - LFT
Ja Morant/Barret/Cam - Trier
DSJ - Ntilikina

No FA's are coming...

VS.

Who Knows (Zaza and McGee won championships...)
AD
KD
Who Knows
DSJ

This isn't Melo + Amare.... This is KD and AD. From there, we'd probably use the rest of our money on a 1) DJ 1-year; 2) try to trade for someone like Lillard, McCollum, Beal or some other guard that can shoot, or 3) Kyrie + KD take slightly less than the max to play together. You can't pass up the opportunity to pair AD and KD... no matter what the cost.

I'd pass on the trade. Why trade a possible top 4 pick that could turn into Barrett or Zion?

C:Mitch/
PF: AD/Thomas
SF: KD/Knox
SG: Barrett/Trier
PG: DSJ/

or

C: AD/Mitch
PF: Zion/Thomas
SF: KD/Knox
SG: Trier
PG: DSJ

A team needs good role players to reach the Finals and Win!

this buyout thing is getting ridicoulus, NBA needs to address this, if you get bought out mid-season you should not be able to join a team of your choosing and bolster a contending teams line-up on a minimum salary. if a player accepts a buyout they should have to sit out the rest of the season (does not impact them financially), if they want to play they can go to China or Europe

I wish this league was like the NHL. Very rarely do you have franchise players change teams. It makes for more a competitive league when players grow with their team like Ewing/Lundqvist. I feel like it means more going through the uggliness with the franchise and end up winning down the road. NBA players change star players like you change your underwear

Probably correct, but who knows what the vibe will be by June. As long as AD keeps saying he doesn't want Boston, there's still a chance that they drop out of the sweepstakes completely.

It's so dumb...

Basically teams conspiring to not deal for Matthews because they want the minimum salary.

Theres no way Mirotic should go for a young player and 4 2nds and Matthews can't get anything...

there is interest but all the teams interested don't have the matching expirings so he will be bought out

mudiay and vonleh are cheap enough where they should be dealt for whatever we can get there...no excuse for perry not to move these two. Recoup a couple small assets.

I think it's only going to get worse. We're moving closer to the Top 15 players, give or take, playing out their rookie deal and signing their first big contract (say $150-$200M) and then when that expires at age 28 or so they'll take a bunch of a 1+1 deals like LeBron signed with CLE so they can have the best of both worlds: freedom but still some security with the PTO.

I think star movement is going to only get more ridiculous unless the next CBA addresses it. Give the current team even more of an advantage (years/money) to signing guys.

Mirotic is way more valuable.
Wes is kinda trash right about now
