Knicks scouts are going to take whoever is the youngest with the highest upside where we pick. It's kinda our thing.

I think the draft strategy changes a bit if they know KD and Kyrie are coming.

Also to mention on Hunter..

Last year, Virginia lost to a 16 seed and Hunter didn’t play. This year he plays and they win the National Championship.

he's also a small ball 4 in college. He won't out muscle opposing 4's in the NBA.

He is as 3/D as your going to get. I wouldn't be opposed to him at 5. But he doesn't have higher upside than Culver.

Culver probably has more upside. But Hunter is like 3/D++. I say that because he looked super comfortable facing up and burying pull up J’s all season.

Really hope Kyrie someone says something to the Knicks whether he’s coming or not. Imagine we’re sitting at pick 3 with Morant on the board and not knowing what the deal is with Irving?

Who do you take Hunter or Culver?

Note: (if I’m correct) Cuvlver has a year on Hunter.

Yeah, let's draft the skinny 19 year old so we can make fun of him for 2 years.

Hunter and KD covering the 3-4 spots interchangeably would be pretty awesome. Add in Mitch’s coverage... could be special.

If Irving comes too, you got a team around him that can defend and hide some of his deficiencies. Maybe you could trade a fat package for Beal as well to play the “2”.

I mean, the question is how well is Hunter's game gonna translate to the NBA

He has a higher floor than most of the other guys, but that doesn't necessarily mean he has a lower ceiling

You're looking at minimum a 3 + D wing, and he's shown some ability to create his own offense as well. If he works on that area of his game, he's got potential to be at least Khris Middleton, which is worth taking 4th or 5th in this draft imo

Age doesn't really bother me that much, like the difference between a 19 year old and a 21 year old prospect isn't that big, but a 22, 23 year old guy I'd be much more hesitant about. Like, Hunter was probably as good as Cam is at 19 when he was 19, so to me, he's already shown he can develop unlike a guy like Cam who's a total wildcard. RJ's better and younger, and I understand people think Ja is better, so I get not taking him top 3, but 4th or 5th makes sense if we drop that far

Culver might be better, but I give the slight edge to Hunter mostly cause of the shooting. I see it as them having similar ceilings, but Hunter has the higher floor. I have them at 3/4 just cause I'm not a huge fan of Ja, but I'd be fine with either

This draft sucks. We should be talking about these guys as settling for them at 8 or 9 but we're in the top 5 and seriously debating them

That's why it's all luck. Don't matter how good you tank if the balls don't fall in your favor, don't matter where you pick if there ain't the right dude available to be took

I would still take Ja. Take the talent, figure everything out later. At worst he would be a great trade chip or insurance for Kyrie who is injury prone.

he was feeling it...be careful going off one game. He was struggling for much of the tourney.

Some of these guys can't stand a picking a 3/D guy in the lottery let alone 5 but now hunter drops nearly 30 and he's back on the top 5 radar.

I like hunter, I like him a lot. But he's limited. Doesn't do much of anything off the dribble and basically is a catch and shoot guy right now with elite defensive potential. He also will be 22 by the time the NBA season starts. He's not young.

Even if we fall to 4 and don’t get Irving/Durant, just gotta stick the course. Select Hunter, keep gaining assets.

My lineup next year if everything fails for us:

Ntilikina
Dotson
Knox
Hunter
Robinson

They will lose a ton, but build build build!

Culver isn’t going to gain 25+ pounds with another year of experience. Hunter was also just as productive last year (min per).. Hunter won’t wow you with the athletism culver has but Hunter appears to likely adapt to the NBA game better than culve will.

Easily. Culver best bet for his career is someone drafts him as a PG and he becomes a blend of Steve Smith and Frank Nkilikina not as athletic as Frank and not as good a shooter as Smitty but a great decision maker

Not burning a Top 5 on him. Trade down of you want him.
