Nice.... you think this one situation proves your point as if it isn't consistent behavior over decades that this situation is just another example of.

Oh, the Dems could have blocked it until after the election with a lower committee vote one day when they had the temporary advantage because of some missing members but they didn't because they are spineless and soulless....well, they are just 'less' in every way possible.

Shumer came out all mealy mouthed making some wishy washy statement instead because that's all the dem leadership seems to be able to do. Stopping it until after the election was the only chance to block it completely and they shrunk away from the moment.

I really do hope the progressives will take over the dem party because if they don't this country will continue to be turned into a right wing fascist police state.

The poll numbers in the GA Senate races are turning heavily blue, including Ossof

NV's state poll numbers are getting bluer too

I'd say GA and NV are some of the better benchmarks for the direction the vote is taking

Okay so what’s the other two things they could have done? I mean there’s nothing they could do here. Lindsay Graham literally changed the rules of the committee so they could move speed the confirmation forward. Even if they had waited until after the election, Republicans would just confirm her in a lame duck session. The Senate could be made up of 49 Progressives and there’s literally nothing they could do.

I suggest that you focus your energy where it should be focused, Republicans. They’re like a kid who keeps setting fires, the only way to protect the country is to never let them get near the matches. And that means focusing on defeating Republicans at every level of government.

Until Democratic voters are ready to put their sustained energy into keeping Republicans out of power at every level of government, the same way Republican voters have done over the past decade, you’ll continue to see these results if Republicans gain power.

538 says Kelly is an 80% chance to win the seat.

I'm not sure that is a "tough race"

Well, she’s actually beating Kelly according to the polls listed by 538, so there’s that.

Are you looking at the average of polls on 538? I find it hard to believe Mcsally has caught up in the average.

Even realclearpolitics has Kelly over an average of 4 points. I suggest you don’t pay much attention to the polls over the next week. A lot of these are just noise whether it’s really good for Biden or slightly good for Trump.

I’m waiting in the 5 hour voting line again, so my wife can vote. Going to call her when I get near the polling place to take my spot. 2 hours in now. :)

He was looking at the last 3 individual polls for Arizona that’s what’s throwing things off for Wingo. Honest mistake on his part.

Ah, I see as well. I never thought Wingo had bad intentions.

Hopefully, this lets everyone breathe slightly easier.

The last AZ Senate poll cited there was four days ago and it was Susquehanna, which appears to be a Republican leaning org

Prior to that the vast majority of polls there had Kelly up

Nice!!!! Go vote no matter what party. It is horrifying to see low turnout numbers the last few decades.

NV I'm not too worried about... I can't get the numbers but how's the two GA races are doing? I'm reading huge turnouts in GA.

It's also worth noting that the Susquehanna poll is from a Trump SuperPAC

yep - also suspect pollsters too. Susquehanna has a C rating and Basswod Research is a conservative leading pollster.

Polling indicates Warnock has opened a massive lead over Loeffler and Collins. Since that is a special election seat the GOP has split their vote and that leaves the sole Democrat with a 15-20 point lead now, so the GA turnout seems to be turning that into a sure victory

Ossoff seems to be pulling ahead of Perdue in the latest polls. One of the topline results I pulled from the poll asks this:

Topline Results1. If the election for U.S. Senator from Georgia were held today, who would you votefor?

Jon Ossoff, Democrat 51%
David Perdue, Republican 45%
Shane Hazel, Libertarian 2%
Someone else 1%
Unsure 1%

So if the vote margins hold up, there could be two new Dem Senators in GA, but there appears to be at least one so far
