Maybe a better question is what other players from the 2019 draft would you take over him, just disregarding that he was the 3 pick.

no doubt
-----------
ja
zion

maybe, at least they do 1 to 2 things at an NBA starter level
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
cam reddish (bigger, better 3 point shooter)

brandon clarke (playing poorly this year, after last year i'd have said yes after he shot 36% from 3 on good volume and was a great rebounder and defender, he's also 24 compared with RJ being 21)
cam johnson (elite stretch shooter, but older, defense is fine)
garland (atrocious defense, can't draw fouls to save his life, but if this 3 point shooting keeps up he'll be a starter)

I feel like if RJ can get his ft% above 80 and be a foul drawing wing who plays good defense and can rebound and go then he'll at least be a rotation player.

Unless they change the rules or he can shoot 3's at a high school starter level he'll never be a quality starter on a real team. With his volume we'll know by year end if he can get there. He's currently shooting 5 a game (almost all uncontested) and clocking a Chuck Hayes like 12.5%.

Maybe Reddish? Oh aight.

I stick by my long standing position, he will be the best player from that draft.

Zion is never going to be a good defender weighing as much as a 747, and his offense is built around him being heavy.
JA is never going to be a good defender in a playoff series because he's so slight, wings are how you win, we have one of the best under 23 wings in the league.

Can't believe we have a bust that can only put up 26/11/6. Might as well trade him for Reddish

I am hopping that more Knicks draft selections become busts like RJ.

I like RJ and think he's been unfairly picked apart, but Zion's on another level and will become an excellent defender eventually. He's too smart, physically gifted, & has too good of instincts on that end not too.

Let RJ be RJ, the talent and most importantly the DESIRE TO WIN is there... I find it funny how people are calling RJ a bust but if Frank has a great night for someone like him (10-12 pts) they wet their manties... FOH with that.

Replace Frank with Quickley. 1.5 games and everybody wants to push him to the moon instead of enjoying him in his position.

RJ can look even better than this if we tweak the lineup to add more shooting and adjust his role so that he isn't forced to take so many 3s and can get comfortable in the mid-range and drives

Sure, he's a hall of famer.

He's completely comparable to Reddish if you aren't a blind a homer. Based on a much larger body of work. I hope RJ leaves him in the dust this year but last year despite Reddish being bad, RJ was worse.

Reddish isn't intense enough for the NBA. Talented as all Hell but doesn't give a crap.

The RJ criticism is bizarre. He’s at the start of his second season with no real training camp or summer league and is balling. He has the mental fortitude to compete every time he steps on the floor and the work ethic to improve. His raw numbers are good for such a young player. They should improve over his career. He’s an absolute stud that impacts so many categories. He definitely should’ve made All Rookie last year. Top 5 in every major statistic yet somehow wasn’t one of the top 5 rookies?!?!

There’s a reason he went third in his draft class.
