OKC has young legs that aren't run into the grpund. Seemed like they could match and exceed our pace.

And maybe we are a road team that is better without distractions who got hot at the right times.

Hmmm, unproven rookie with little off season practice looked bad? This is why he is where he is and we still need to upgrade from Payton when we can.

This will be a good lesspn fpr Quickley.

yes, that is the reason why i said to melo we just can't play toppin and randle together at all. And thats why I would see one of them.

Don’t lose sight of the bigger picture!!!!

On the road to 5-67!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm saying. How did he go from 33% to sub 20??? At least last year when he took a 3 I didn't cringe. He's getting to Payton levels at this point

I had a bad feeling when i heard this doofus saying some chit in the summer like "We're actually working on RJ point his elbow away from the basket" or something like that

It isn't tough to see. Looked like RJ wanted to prove he was the King of Canadians against Shai and Dort.

Just really having his way in the paint tonight

Shooting below 50% at the rim is good, right?

this is the first team in a while they just went under every screen on payton and dared him too shoot. They always kept a defender in between him and the rim. And Payton struggled. Will be surprised if we don't see more teams just go under and dare him too shoot outside the paint.
I don't know why anyone doesn't go under our backcourt period. Rivers might be the only guy you need to go over on.

And Randle handling isn't a terrific pnr option either.

Thibs should look at some of the high low action NOP uses with Zion as a way to get our bigs scores withoutbthem handling the ball.

Thibs had a terrible coaching night. Leaving Mitch out as SGA and Diallo stroll to the paint was just negligible.

RJ had a rough night. His ball handling just isn't good enough and he cant shoot. He also cant use his physicality at the NBA level.

Would yall consider RJ + Protected Pick for Zach Lavine? *Ducks for cover*

Payton is trash. He seriously needs to go. Wish we picked up Rondo instead.

Payton had a bad game but doesn't need to be cut. However, if the notion is start the veteran when we all know IQ - and perhaps Frank - will play better, he needs to be quicker to go to the bench. This game was lost largely because we missed shots we usually hit, it was nice to see they didn't come out lazy with a 'we're too good and we're going to beat you' attitude. Of course it sucks to lose games you should win, but I can live with this loss.

Mike Miller gave them the gameplan and OKC executed it. If we continue to start Payton, more teams will follow suit.

We were up 10 early but it felt like we should be up 20 plus. Kinda that same type of game where utah let us hang around and then we got hot. Then we returned the favor to OKC

RJ’s not a good shooter, that’ll (hopefully) come in time...

But right now he needs improve his shot selection, like he needs to completely eliminate that f*cking step back and fadeaway from his repertoire, and he needs to stop shooting on the move.

He should focus on set shots, and at least be able to shoot 40% there before he starts trying to shoot off the dribble. Other than that go into the paint. Keep it simple.

I mean they are getting plenty of open looks.. just not hitting (mainly RJ) I saw so many times Randle would hit Rj in the corner for a wide open shot and he’s brick or air ball it. Or the screen roll hand off which leads to a wide open pull up mid for a RJ and he’s clanking those too

that is very true. He wasn't nicknamed duh duh butter for no reason.

All I'm saying I would rather have a bum that passes then a bum that just shoots himself. That and he shot 39% from 3 one year while he was here. So I think I would take him just for a spacing and passing purposes.

When you pull your best defender out of the game... you lose. That small ball lineup with Randle at the 5 was an open lane to the rim. We couldn't hold them off while our shots were clanking left and right. Mitch being in the bench lost that game.

Eh, I'm over this game. It just wasn't our night like in Toronto. Every single player played bad and we still kept it competitive to the end. We can't expect to win every game and even good teams drop some games to bad teams. Next game is against the Nuggets who are terrible on defense, so hopefully we can pull out a quality win and right the ship again.
