Can't believe i'm agreeing with Stephen A Smith! But, he hit the nail on everything, especially Thibs being reluctant to put Rose in the game with Kemba late there for free throws.

IQ has been atrocious so far this season. pretty disappointing considering I thought he would take a leap this season. maybe it still happens since its early but he looks horrible

This guy reminds me of Howard Eisley and Shannon Anderson.

His defense is so awful and is only a matter of time before Thibs reduces his minutes to bench minutes. I rather see IQ more and hopefully Grimes and McBride with some minutes.

Stop with this voodoo.

I'm a card carrying member of the I Despise Howard Eisley and Shandon Anderson club. A membership I never let expire.
And Fournier is worlds better than either guy.

Just don't view him as some massive FA signing. He's a 3rd option kind of guy who is pretty good in that role, where he can function as a legit 2nd option AT TIMES.

He's here so there's an effective P&R wing who has an all around game until RJ grows into it

Fournier could be the next Burks in 2 years, but better.

That Howard Eisley Shannon Anderson backcourt was some of the most depressing and boring times as a Knick fan

Also just how he has the ball on a string compared to Payton last year. He can really navigate screens and also reset the play when it's going nowhere. With Julius and RJ having rather loose handles (for their usage), it's a really valuable skill.

He was playing passive in the first 3 games and only took 8 shot attempts in each. 15 and 12 in the last 2. He just needs to stop playing passive sometimes be unselfish and dial his own number. The funny thing is people were expecting him to come in and be a chucker and he's been the exact opposite of that and is taking mostly high quality looks

IQ has been horrendous, and Burks, I don’t get it, some have defended him here but I just don’t see it.
Give me Grimes please.

Grimes is not ready to make plays and while Burkes played bad tonight he's been solid. Again, overall Grimes can defend and shoot but Burkes makes plays and you need that extra man.

One day when down by 2, Thibs may put Grimes in, so he'll get his chance.

IQ, Burks and Randle lower the hoops IQ of this team when they play poorly. Randle has tons of leeway to be an idiot sometimes. IQ probably doesn’t.

His time will come soon enough. Thibs still giving IQ respect

And Burks.

Thibs has been excellent. I'm wary of him giving vets wayyyy too much rope (Elf, cough!) but Thibs kind of makes moves organically and with some respect to the player getting benched in favor of the other guy and the overall team vibe. And if the benched player can't handle it, they get sent packing. Like Rivers.

So, I think Grimes has impressed him, but Thibs, rightly so for team chemistry, is going to give IQ\Burks every chance to keep (or lose) the spot.

If it happens, around game 30. Hunch.

Sometimes you just have to have a feel for the game. Bulls brought in Ayo. Sometimes you just need a spark and he brings what we needs. He’s a rookie so he would get treated as such, Burks makes millions.

I believe it drove me to 20 straight years of message board posting about the Knicks. A need to discuss the Knicks with others who knew what they were talking about, to discuss how the Knicks could be brought so low in such a stupid way.

Crazy thing is Burks still has the 3rd highest net rating on the team (behind Rose and Obi) at +9.1.

It's consistent with last year too.

Obviously, a lot of it is a byproduct of sharing the court with Rose most of the time, but there's something about Burks's size and ability to play on and off ball that gives the team a lot of punch when he's on the court.

Maddening player, but he's not a liability overall.

Some guys take the sophmore jump and some take the sophmore slump.

And then are good in year 3. Or not.

It’s good that we can find so much wrong even in a win. I’d be concerned if we were content, but we see a lot of areas to improve on and that just goes to show how good we can really become.

He doesn't get to the rim and apparently can't shoot from the mid-range, his three point shot has been off pretty much since the playoffs. At some point Thibs has to give Grimes a chance, but we saw Thibs play Elfrid so it's likely Grimes will be glued to the bench until there's someone out.

He's a type.

Thibs has a type, for his wings.

RJ is actually the same type, but young and not there yet.
Fournier is the most realized version
Grimes in the unproven version coming for Burks spot.
