Welp, Game 1 today is in the books. Exciting but our starting pitchers has been rocked the first month.

At least they won game 2, and . . . made game 1 interesting, after going 1-5 in a 6 game stretch.

Denyi Reyes has been good out of the pen this year, before he was sent to the minors to work on extending his innings and being a starter. His one start in the minors didn't go much better.

He's on the 40 and he has options, so we'll probably see him again, hopefully not starting though.

Alvarez is heating up. Escobar hit a homer today. Baty is hot and making a case for being our best hitter. I know . . . small sample size. Verlander & Scherzer are both making starts in a few days. 16-13 despite all that's gone wrong. Not bad. I mean, I still hate the braves, but there are positives for this team for sure.

Agreed. Could be worse. Nice to see the kids heating up.

On to Detroit.

Scherzer has been absolute garbage since the playin tournament that the Mets were in last season.

Welp, we just got swept by the Detroit Tigers. We’ve also lost 5 out of our last 6 games. Yay!!!

It's not been a good stretch.

Verlander wasn't bad, but it's hard to win when you score 0 runs. 16-16. Yuck. We're even worse than the Yankees. :-)

Unless things change in the next 45 days, we need to look to make a move. Whether it's bringing up Mauricio and Vientos or trading them, we need to do something. We need upgrades on both offense and pitching. I'm not saying that we need to make panic moves but we need to start being concerned about where we are as a team. What say you?

We eeked out a 1-0 win against the Rockies last night. When we score runs, our pitching sucks. Smh.

I would preach patience... like others have said, can't evaluate until we get our full rotation back. I'm actually happy that we're going deep into our depths and see what they got. Also gets our older pitchers away from pitching in a colder environment.

I’d like to see us bring up Vientos to platoon at DH with Vogelbach.

Both NY baseball teams have two of the highest payrolls and have been terrible this season.

Mets started out OK. Not as good as their record, but good. This has been an very ugly stretch. Scherzer has a bad shoulder and is trying to pitch through it. That's concerning. Senga was good his last outing. If Verlander and eventually, Quintana pitch well, they could be OK. The bats need to wake up though.

I'm telling ya, Canha is killing us. And so is Marte who is off to a slow start. We just brought up Mauricio, so I expect to start seeing him at 2B with McNeil in LF.

Peterson sucks. I'm done with him and Butto.
