I hope you’re right. I gotta feeling that he couldn’t care less about the Jets or their fans. Who knows how much he even has left in the tank at 40.

Huh? He stated he's here because he thinks this team can win. He wants to win it all. He will be motivated after the way GB treated him the last few years. He was B2B MVP two years ago and played better than any QB we had last year even with multiple injuries.

How long have you been a Jets' fan?

It doesn't make any difference what Rodgers thinks he wants and GB means nothing now. Two years ago is a eons to a 40 football player, even if he's a QB and the league rules have been protecting his Charmin ass. Plus, who knows who's the next whacko-woman he ends up finding in NYC that'll screw his mind up. He's a magnet for weirdness. Forgive me, but as a Jets' fan since '69, I have my reasons for skepticism.

I became a Jets fan mid-late 70s. I get it. Battered fan syndrome. He is one season removed from being the BEST QB in the league.... TWICE in a row. That's not eons ago. The rest of your reasons have nothing to do with football.

Hopefully the SOJ curse can be broken but, I get it. I'm just not gonna let it get to me until it becomes reality. I'm excited. This is coming from a guy with one foot out the door with this team.

Usually when you trade for a QB you have to wonder how quickly he'll pick up and adapt the playbook, we don't have that problem for Rodgers.

Breece Hall vs a normal front? Man it feels good at the moment...

Hall might not be last year's Hall until week 8 or actually next year.

They still have that new guy they got, Carter might round back into shape, and they drafted a fast guy out of Brooklyn, so I think it'll be ok.

I saw some complaints on a Jets board on how the Jets don't have a proven speedy slot receiver, but Davis and the player from Green Bay are are used to taking 30% of their snaps or so at slot in their career. So, kind of the all around/big slot receiver.
Who was the big-ish white guy receiver the Jets had about 10 years ago? He played a decent amount in the slot too, mixing it up outside. Seems like Lazard and Davis can play that.

That's 3 pretty good WRs: Wilson/Davis/Lazard, plus the burner guy they got to replace Berrios.

I mean they added Hardman in free agency, so the speed question is moot. Wilson can line up in the slot, with Davis/Lazard on the outside. Receiving talent is the last of our problems. Not to mention the plethora of tight ends, which Rodgers likes to utilize. Hall tore his ACL in October and should be ready to go the first week of the season, while every injury bounce back is different, it's not like he's rushing back. There's still Carter, Knight and the rookie even if they want to take it slow with Breece. For every Akers/Barkley there's a Peterson.

You're thinking of Decker I'm assuming.
Jazz: Under reconstruction, we'll be back.

Aaron Rogers attends a Rangers game (and a Knicks game I think). With Breece, Allen Lazard, and some cameos by Spike Lee and Neil deGrass Tyson. I wonder if Tyson explained to him the Coreolis effect and how it moves the football about quarter of an inch on a long throw, so he can make adjustments.

;t=2s

Nerd Power. Rogers looks like he might be a nerd himself. An athletic one, but still a nerd.
Go Knicks!! Go Mets!!

As for the Jets . . . just keep it entertaining.

Decker. Yup. Agree with all. I'm just pointing out there was some handwringing over the Jets not having some "prototypical" small slot receiver. Who cares. They have two guys who play 33% of their snaps in the slot; the other 33% can come from Hardman etc

Question from someone who doesn't follow football as much as some of you, but can one of the RBs line up and fill the role of slot receiver, now that we might have a surplus of backs? Or does that take a special skillset?

Jets signed Billy Turner (OT) last night. He's got a ton of familiarity with Rodgers and Hackett because he started in Green Bay for a couple of years. But he's not so good that there would be drama if Becton or Mitchell beat him out for the starting role. I think it's a good combination of a vet to help the young tackles adjust to Hackett and Rodgers; and legitimate depth that can start if needed.

So Carter Warren and Billy Turner added to the depth at Tackle. Our O-line has plenty of depth.

Here's a fun fact. Sports Illustrated power rankings put the Jets at #6 overall. I forget where the Giants were. Mid to high 30s I think.

He's a vet for the WR's room, but fifth or worse on the depth chart. The other former Packer they signed has a chance to be more consequential. Billy Turner is a solid "in case the rest of the tackles all get hurt again" depth piece.

Picture Aaron Rodgers leading an offense in the Red Zone with 6'5 Allen Lazard and 6'3 Corey Davis as targets...not to mention Garrett Wilson. I cannot wait to see this offense fam. I really hope Breece Hall comes back like he looked last season, because this offense could be really special.

Jets pretty much all that's left after the Knicks decide to go to Cancun. Need Becton to stay healthy this year and pull a Dan Jones in his contract year.
