Isn’t it interesting that Thibs was gonna keep iHart on the bench after the Mitch injury?
A genius lineup and rotations guy Thibs is not.

Re: Knicks - Bulls PG
So after the 76ers we have Portland and Was. If I’m coaching McBride would get an extended run the next two games. Similar to how the Nets reduced Bridges minutes for a game, I would do the same with Brunson and let Duece, Grime's, and Flynn (if he is back) get a chance to get comfortable. We need to see what we have here and we aren’t seeing the whole picture if you don’t give guys time especially if management and coaching is seeing things in practice that gave you the confidence to make the move we did.

Us out talenting the bulls, when they’re on B2B is just whatever. I’ll be willing to believe depending on how this looks on Friday. There’s a lot of promise but we’ll still need to add a third scorer and/or ball handler if we want to make conference title run.
Agreed. Have to put this win in proper context.
What's the proper context for the win against the Wolves?
Pretty much the same thing
IIRC Thibs used Brunson with the bench that time and he tried Randle tonight. Neither of them were super successful but I’d hope he tried that one again. Brunson should be better than Randle without another creator on the court. I Also doubt teams other than the wolves can make brunson so inefficient.

I wonder if Sims didn’t get hurt, he would have made the switch now that the trade broke up his bench unit? Or sims not being good enough would have forced his hand sooner?

I think he's the best 1v1 defender in the league. 1-5, he can defend them all and basically lock them up sans a few. The only people I've seen "cook" OG is Cade (multiple times), Tatum can make some tough shots vs him and really big dominating centers like Jokic and Embiid. He can still hang with them but he does give up some size. Guys like Demar and Donovan Mitchell get absolutely smothered and shut down by OG. "grats Knick fans, and we definitely enjoy IQ too! Finally a competent guard that can shoot. win win. Best of luck to ya'll
Demar, Mitchell, Butler too. Many others as well. Luka, Nick Nurse used to match OG on him minute for minute, when Luka subbed so did OG.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

That never made sense. Thibs does some head scratching things, but to be fair has also gotten some good results overall.

Re: Knicks - Bulls PG
iHart last 8 games he has started
33.3 MPG
56.8% FG %
81.3 FT %
6.9 PPG
10.1 RPG (4.1 on offense)
2.9 AST
1.4 STL
1.5 BLK
Both offense and defense end... he is a starting center in this league. Only 25 years old, UFA, weak FA class... 10 teams under the cap. Knicks better hurry and call his agent.

I see a lot of momentum for iHart to remain the starter, even though he's not the defender Mitch is. Are those in favor of keeping iHart as a starter also in favor of resigning him to a deal greater than Mitch's? How high should the Knicks be willing to go to resign him? 15 mil? 18?

I kinda get that Thibs liked his fit with the bench. Look at how our bench is struggling now. Also to keep him out of foul trouble so he can finish the game. But starting bad players like Jericho sims isn’t the answer. One of the best things about this Hartenstein stretch has been his ability to not get in foul trouble which has been a main weakness of his throughout his career

I don’t think any McPrecious lineup will work very well

Achiuwa is a body. Maybe he works better as a PF. But at center he brings neither size nor skill. There was a reason Toronto was willing to include him in this deal.

We did need “a body” and he’s expiring anyway so I think we can deal

Agreed. It's just that we can't expect much.

When Toronto fans says he is low BBIQ... I can certainly see it. I think its best to play Sims unless he really struggles until Precious understands his role.

Where do you guys get the stuff saying Hartenstein isnt as good on D as Mitch?
He’s literally ranked as the best defender in the NBA according to everyone’s new favorite stat EPM: https://dunksandthrees.com/epm.
Many posters still taking iHart for granted. He’s legit. More mobile than Mitch, just as good on D/boards, and way more useful on offense.
Yes he should be paid more than Mitch and be the starter. Mitch is always hurt and hasnt improved. He can get moved for a more versatile big as we shouldnt tie too much money up in the C spot.

They have listened to shams relentless propaganda about Mitch being Bill Russell.
IHarts rim protection numbers were blowing Mitchs out the water as well.

Yeah I like stats and all but the eye test tells me Mitch is a better defender than iHart. iHart is the better offensive player though he isnt given much in terms of usage with Jalen and Julius on the team.
