The minutes thing is a bit blown out of proportion but lets not pretend like Thibs is not 1 of 1. No other coach had any of their guys play a full 48 minutes in the regular season no matter the circumstances No other coach plays guys for the entire second half like Thibs does in the regular season.

No other coach would come out and say something about Alec Burks needing to stay ready after being removed from the rotation and then proceed to play DDV the entire second half of game 80 of the season up 30 points going into the 4th quarter against Payton Pritchard and some G-League guys rather than play Burks a single minute.

Every coach has their strengths and weaknesses and their maniacal ways but we can't sit here and continue to try to normalize everything Thibs does. He may be our maniac but he is own special type of maniac. You have to take the good with the bad that comes with it.

This Alex Burks thing makes ZERO sense to me.

Completely takes the guy out of the rotation for the last 10-15 games of the season, what is the rationale for that? That is SPECIFICALLY the time to give him minutes, since you KNOW your top 7 guys are going are going to be playing big minutes in the playoffs.

Instead you burn all the players out and have to RELY on Burks in the playoffs, when you should have been giving him 10-12 at the end of the regular season.

Instead Thibs would rather get a number 2 seed in the regular season and have all his players burnt out by the second round. It’s very short sighted.

I stopped caring about the minutes debate for one reason: He's getting extended.

We'll be crying over spilled milk for another 3-4 years by complaining about Thibs rotations. It is up to the FO to deepen the bench with playable veterans.

The front office gave him Alec Burks and Derrick Rose both got extended DNPs.

Thibs could hand pick the rotation he still won’t go deeper than 8 players unless there is an injury.
