Finch's offense was primarily KAT staying out of ANT's way. Thibs offense seems better suited for KAT. Personally, I thought we were going to see the same sort of offense from T-Wolves here. Thibs shocked me.

Even at his worst, Mikal is still averaging 16/4/4 shooting 46% overall from the field and 30% from three for the season

Ok well that’s terrible and we traded not one, not two, not three, not four, but five guys burgers and fries for this jagoff so he better make a shot soon

We desperately wanted to unite the Villanova guys and had to overpay to do just that.

I'm trying to find his shot chart for tonight. Were all his 3pt misses from above the break?
No. I think he missed a corner.

Tbh, I like mikal. I think he is on some sort of Andy Kaufman sketch with all his different forms to fck with us. And with everyone else stepping up he can take his time getting right or figuring out what character he wants to fully lean into. If he does decide to be his best self it will take us to a whole new level.

Defensively, this was a huge difference, but it was easy to do. Get your frigging hands up and out. It was a simple adjustment, but with it came a massive improvement

First time in a while we got up on guys. Guys felt us for once.

It really was evident, wasn't it?

Sometimes it comes down to effort and better execution to go along with the right defensive strategy.

We will still have some match-up concerns until we get a bigger rotation up front, but most nights we should be competing defensively regardless.

Tonight they showed they can compete on defense NOW and don't need to make excuses about missing players.

If not for the fact that we got one of those missing players back. :o

We see brilliant performances like tonight and say to ourselves this is it, the team has come together and is ready to make a run but then end up with nights like Utah. IMO we won't make a significant run until we get Precious and Mitch back. Our defense right now is horrible most nights and if we aren't shooting and passing lights out its a toss up against good teams.

We'll need him against teams like Utah. Towns seems to do better against teams where the C is the main guy. Less good where we need a helper.
Towns works versus Joker becaise Jokic is slow footed and pass first. He can bother Jokic. With Jokic out it was still a parade to the rim. Westbrook had a late run.

Ofc his raw numbers will increase with this but I'm most concerned with his efficiency. Need him to get right because defenders are going to sag off him and start making life harder for others. Plus there are going to be nights the other 3 are struggling and he will need to pick it up.

It's the above the break three that is the issue with Mikal. He is so bad from that area that it is affecting his overall percentage. He is reliable everywhere else.

https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/mikal-bridges-shot-chart-this-season

He is lethal from the right corner three at 53.1% on 32 attempts.

He has shot 31.8% on 22 attempts from the left corner three which is below league average but should be easy to improve on.

He can't hit any from above the break though

He is well above average on all of his mid-range shots and in the paint

He's actually a compliment to OG's shot chart

https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/og-anunoby-shot-chart-this-season

Notice how OG is weak from the right corner three (33% on 12 attempts), but he is outstanding everywhere else. Also, OG is getting most of his points on threes or in the paint, but not a whole lot of mid-range like Mikal.

The starting 5 is such a good fit. If Mikal can improve his 3 ball and play better defense we will be extremely tough to beat when everyone is back. Like best in the league tough. We aren't far off from where we need to be. Precious should be back in he very near future. Mitch in a month or so? I can see us start rolling really soon. We are 7 of our last 10 already. I think we are about to turn the corner.

So what we think? Coaches/players going to select OG into the all-star game? I don't think he can be a starter.

Never knew I needed to lotion my hands before a few day trip in Phx. Learned for my trip to Denver so I didn't end up with dried up cuticles that cracked.

It was more Gobert clogging the paint. KAT was doing this before Gobert arrived then they got Gobert and turned KAT into Ryan Anderson

If you missed the game being an old head. You missed the best Knicks offensive game of all time and the best defensive effort this season.

Brunson with 17 assist tonight is the real stat of the night. Waiting for the clowns who keep arguing with me to say “we don’t need JB to pass the ball”
