Deuce was heading for a starting role if the trade for Mikal Fields (BBF of Jeremy Brunson) didnt happen

Hopefully he'll still get it

Our best lineup would be with McBride and Achiuwa... you need to maximize Towns production

Mitch, Hart, Bridges, Shamet and Payne are more than enough as a second unit

with this 10 man rotation you can rest more your best players with no more than 30-35 min per game

This is how you know its not rational...WE WON THE GAME  Yet, the thread has so much negativity in it...
If we lose- ok thats fair but in a win...come on...
There are so many threads that you can obsess about Mikal, Thibs minutes -etc...
Is it too much to ask for US ALL to enjoy the win?! :banghead:

It’s because of the way we won. We won by a point against a team playing without their star. The last game we lost against a team playing without three starters. It’s not about being satisfied with a one point win, it’s glaring weaknesses that are scary. Namely Mikal.

I would love to have a conversation with you -if I felt you would acknowledge points but its the same talking points- so whats the point. For example, Klay starting would have "helped us" so the fact that he's a starter was irrelevant. Context rules everything.
Look at the 15-1 Cavs...they lost back to back games againt ATL. This is the NBA. Every player can be a star on any given night.
Compound that with we are a new team. Our players are being played HEAVY minutes on a short rotation. We essentially have 6
players with experience- and in the last 2 games 7 with deuce coming back. That Dallas team (WITHOUT LUKA) beat Denver and OKC.
That team went to the finals because they are an elite team. Elite teams can beat other elite teams without their best players and they can esspecially beat our new-short handed-Knick team. For further context -Gafford is half of a two head Lively and Gafford-monster. So- I'll agree that they didnt have 1 1/2 of their starters in context Knick fix :D

I mean, two things can be true. It's too early to write him off but boy howdy is he playing like ass right now and we might need to adjust (Deuce in the SL) until he pulls it together here.

I've wanted him here for years but can't argue what's in front of my face.

its the why Cap...like Thibs said- he has a body of work..he needs time to invent what his style of play will be for this dynamic team...

I expect him to ultimately play better but man... Thibs... adjust.

I guess he did a bit today by releasing the Deuce down the stretch. McBride won today's game AFAIC.

The issue with him on offense isn't a matter of play style, it's that the bozo changed the mechanics on his shot for no reason. The body of work makes sense if he were in a shooting slump with his previous form, but he changed it and can't shoot because of it. What you're seeing is someone that has lost confidence in their shot and it's having an impact everywhere right down to him not wanting to go to the line because he may miss.

This is not a shooting slump, he couldn't make threes in preseason which is almost 2 months ago. This is a form change that has to be fixed or else what you see is what you get.

Again you don't need time and adjustment to defend. That should be the baseline.

The shot ok it is what it is right now.

But defend, play with some urgency that is all I ask.

The scary thing is that if you look at his stats from all last year they aren’t much better. He only shot 43.6% last year, this year he is up to 46%. Maybe this is just who he is and the franchise is certifiably insane ?

Right, and that's where the Deuce subs are the most apparent. All of a sudden we'll be getting stops and the transition offense gets cooking when he's in the game. Dadiet's defense has been quite good too. That kind of effort deserves recognition but it also leads to winning play, as both players +/- and net ratings indicate.

I agree that Thibs needs to open his mind regarding minutes and trusting players -especially this year but I dont think
he will- therefore, im just going to enjoy the good and when the bad happens -hope for the best- I have no control over
Thibs or the Knicks Cap- so I might as well have fun and relax...thats my position Cap...Try to have fun with you guys while we
travel on this journey...

Schedule says we play the Raptors on 12/9 and don't have another game until Minnesota on 12/19. Is that right? 10 day break?
