What an embarrassment.

It's a great time for me, as the fanbase turns on Jalen Brunson, as of course they inevitably would with Randle no longer here.

This was my fear with this team heading into the season. They are better than 80% of the league talent wise, and combined with how Thibs coaches you’re looking at a 55 win team.
But come playoff time, especially deep into the playoffs, when everyone’s rotations get short and you’re playing the top teams, this team isn’t on that level.
This team needs another shot maker/creator off the bench and a rim protecting starting big (pushing Hart to the bench). If you don’t have top tier talent (top-5 level player and top-12 player) you need depth.

A few weeks ago I called Brunson a fringe top-10 player. I got roasted on these boards because of that. I stand by that position.

I'm not entirely sold on the "we don't have a bench". After Randle went down last season Thibs was running 8 and 1/2 player rotations basically. We had Mitch, Bogs and McBride off the bench with Precious and Burks getting spot minutes. Can we honestly say last year's bench was better than this years bench? Sure we miss Mitch but I think the other players are basically a wash.
This year is simply coming down to the fact that teams have started to figure us out, we have no offensive sets and our defense has taken a huge step backwards. All things the coaching staff needs to adjust but has not.

You answered your own question lol Mitch, Bogs, McBride, Burks, Precious >>>>>>Payne, Shamet, McBride, Precious
We had 2 shot creators coming off the bench in Burks and Bogs. We have none this year

I agree with you. You were right. We need a high level starter at C and push Hart to the bench to help improve it. Melo mentioned Myles Turner and he would be a great fit next to KAT. But I don’t know if we have the pieces to get him. I think we would be better off starting Mitch and pushing Hart to the bench and trading some of our scraps for any available decent wing.

Nobody has ever said the bench is good, that's just a strawman argument these posters use to defend Tom. Everyone says the bench needs to play, regardless of outcome, like the Celtics don't have a good bench at all but they still play more than ours.
