I don't think it's the defense of those two it's the overall team D. JB and KAT are not strong defenders, Hart is a hustle guy but not a stopper, and the loss of iHart and Mitch is felt. I'm seeing Thibs scheme is only good with a great rim protector, he can't adjust from drop coverage to a switching style. Even if Mitch comes back healthy they need to play drop when he's on court and a different way when Kat and the current starters are on. There's no indication Thibs is flexible like that.

He says the young kids are good, well he should've tested them out in that easy December schedule.

Supposedly we have the most difficult schedule for the rest of the season.

Yes December was a lost opportunity to work the rookies in more

Thibs’s teams usually make a strong run after the ASG going into the playoffs. Getting a healthy Mitch back will be huge. We also needs Deuce and Shamet to get their game legs back.

I’d like us to bring Chuma Okeke up on a 10-day contract. Dadiet needs the G League experience.

We actually already had the easiest schedule in the league going into December. We were always easiest schedule or 2nd easiest behind the Cavs.

The time to play the rookies was from game 1. Get them into rhythm, get them acclimated to different looks, lineups, plays.

Now the schedule is actually more difficult and you know they aren’t touching the floor minus a blowout. Thibs is a clown I can’t wait to see him get canned

What we have to understand here is that thibs is a very old coach - emphasis on very old.

he still sees the games today as if they were like in his heyday. The front office should realize this; the pieces on this squad are for modern basketball while they are being utilised the ancient way.

Hart KAT jb
Three horrid defenders in the lineup to close games
Even I can see that
Thibs single handedly sucked the joy out of watching games for me because I know how the games will end

You guys need to calm down. Last couple of seasons were all about lightning up the fire again.

As a contender we are just rightfully lurking now. No real champs will show you their hands in January.

Pistons bench 46 points Knicks bench 13. Same bs over and over. Thibs grinding all the starters over 38 minutes on a back to back. The guys playing on dead legs in the 4th quarter. Same story.

Not worried, it’s a long season. Scheduling loss on a back to back.

They went 10 deep. Their bench played 92 minutes with 46pts. We went 8.5 deep. The bench played for 42 minutes and 13 pts. Lost the lead in the 3rd quarter and couldn't get stops when they needed them. Shots falling short. Looking gassed again.

I have a bad feeling this is going to be a problem the rest of the season. Will Mitch ever get healthy is one big question. The other is, will it even matter? Thibs is never going to change. Derp.

We won't bring anyone in until after February. We can't. There's an apron we have to avoid this year. We will bring in a vet mini late February early March. That's all we can do outside of swapping out a two way deal for another two way deal.

This team could use Isiah Stewart. We’re missing an edge. Team needs an agitator

Not guarding the 3 and the poor transition defense are the main features of the "regular season".

To quote the great Darvin Ham: "we will be fine, trust me" come playoff time.

there's no defense that works when both your point guard and center can't play d at all. you wanna switch everything instead ? what other positions can jalen or kat guard effectively ? they can't guard the positions that they actually are.

thats also coaching... Indiana has even worse 1 and 5 combination but at least they push the ball and play faster

we do neither... JB needs at least 10 seconds to arrive near the 3pt line bringing the ball up

Yes, the team spirit left their bodies in the 4th quarter of that game

Hot shooting masks it occasionally now, but they are not the same group any longer

I say more like exposed than broke. Our weakness are showing against better teams. But Im not feeling all gloom and doom. Not at all. Coaching, size, and a deeper bench are all fixable.

Fixable, but when?
