What did Tom do to help fix the problem?

Why did he wait til we were down 0-2 to start using the bench?

Tom made more than 'some' mistakes in my opinion. This team had issues all year long.

none of those changes did anything to fix this problem

Figured this was the move

Will say nothing but love for thibs. He made watching the knicks enjoyable. He brought us out of the depths. And for that I will always hold him in high regard. Thanks for the ride thibs.

Oh the indignity!!!

I seem to recall Pierce’s Hawks being terrible until they replaced him with Nate McMillan. How can these possibly be the top two choices after Thibs?

i remember lloyd pierce being ass.

maybe they think he could run a pacers style offense. :dontknow:
RIP magnumt

thanks for everything, thibs.

He won't, but he also won't let them only run 13-18 PnRs per game between them. Our offense is gross and doesn't play to it's strengths at all. There was a point in the playoffs where Brunson/KAT were running less PnR per game than Portis and Porter Jr.

Everyone expected a deadly two man game between them, we got none of that.

there's this other end of the court that it seems very few people care about. that's where we lost this series. look at the pacers score in the games we won.

while true...the amount of miscommunication and lack of consistency for the entire roster is on the coaching too.

Like sure you aren't just magically making Brunson and KAT defend.

But at the end of game 1 how many miscommunications did OG have? Mikal has lost guys on switches....

The team looked lost sometimes and not just because of KAT.

And thats just on defense...the fact we never saw Brunson/KAT look there best together is pretty damning on Thibs on the offensive side.

CP on KnicksfanTV has been saying it will def not be Malone...he was the one that broke Mitch into the starting lineup he is tight with Begley and I think he has some inside info...maybe not on player moves but seems connected to coaching stuff.

i would think they know who they're hiring before doing this. they would want to make sure they have someone in tow that they're confident about.

correct I think they have to have a short list.

It is interesting that the Johnnie Bryant news of him being a finalist in PHX dropped yesterday. Not sure if related.

Would be surprised if that wasn’t the case, could be why they moved so quickly on this.

Yep. That definitely was the straw that broke the camels back. It was inexcusable.

Everything aside, we were being gaslighted all season about Tom, but Leon wasn't.

This also makes me think that he isn't going to be afraid to pivot from Mikal.

We have a roster construction issue - one that familiarity over a full playoff run and training camp might have resolved. Since we’re replacing the coach, there’s now pressure to fix the roster while continuity is no longer a consideration.

we also looked way better the year prior in terms of communication and togetherness when Bryant was on the staff then with Thibs and Rick moving up to the secondary role.

You would have to pry him out of Riles' cold dead hands, maybe literally.

I'm certainly thrilled Thibs is out, but I'm not going to **** on a guy that helped turned this franchise around. 4 Playoffs in 5 years. He got the best out of some of our players. He deserves a little respect here. He got us as far as his coaching style/stubbornness can, now it's time for someone to get us over that hump.

I'd like JB but appears he has a good shot at being the Suns HC.

I'm good with JW or even Bud. Bud wanted the job here before we hired Thibs.

So again, thank you Thibs... but don't let the door hit you on the way out.
