FYI, as opposed to html pages which are "static" (meaning when you publish the page the content is fixed and is easier to "call), message forums like these are "dynamic", meaning always every single call to the database is unique... the pages are constantly changing.

New posts are added, contents like people sigs and avis can change. That is VERY taxing to a database. Forums like this often crash during heavy activity periods.

If there system is anything like ones I'm familiar with, it's hard to just add bandwidth to cover an outlying event like this one.

I assume we're just going to have live with some outages until all this is settled.

Something can be in the works, but until it's official, it can fall through. A way it can fall through is if someone knows what you are trying to do and prevents you from doing it.

If we're looking for a team that has capspace to use for Amare or Barg's contract, the team we are dealing with can agree in principal, but then at the last minute, another team knows what the Knicks are trying to do and steps in with a better offer, our plans are known and stopped.

Besides, like someone mentioned earlier, why would he be completely specific about something that's not concrete and still likely to change or hinge on the balance of something we can contro? If he says too much, the deal can be compromised, and perhaps it even exposes him, too.

What are the chances that Daryl Morey is hunched over his laptop scrolling through the RealGM Knicks forums?

End of the week? The way he banged out those meetings made me think he wanted to be quick and efficient with this process.

I'm still going to hold onto my hope that he's working with the Knicks and keeping everything silent so someone doesn't jump in and mess up their plan by way of FO defense
