I actually think the Rockets are comfortable either way. If we match, they will get a bigger share of luxury tax. If we don't match, they get the best PG on their roster.

The other thing is that with Felton on the roster, it makes me nervous because I do question whether he will gravitate away from Lin. I don't trust that Woodson trusts Lin.

This can also be a way for the Knicks to show him that he is not irreplaceable, let him think this one through for a couple of days before matching. Whatever happens, it's clear the Knicks were pissed at the renegotiation of the contract and that is driving the decision to either match or show him he is not irreplaceable.
