Sounds like someone's jealous because he has nothing to show in speedos.

Why Rasho, I'd expect you whine and dine me 1st before we get to the speedos stage. ;)

I dig Jorts, he seems cool, and im all in favor of optimism, but also realsim...

And despite our lack of size, I just cant see Jorts taking the floor for more than 80 minutes all season...

You keep acting (since he was Drafted), like his Career is hinging on this Season or something.

Matter-a-fact, I think the Erie D-League purchase is one of the main reasons they Drafted Jorts. They likely see him as a long-term cheap asset off the Bench to help be a glue guy (ala KT and Turiaf's roles upfront). And the very least he'll one day be a Trade Asset too (ala the Bulls Omar Asik/Aaron Gray).

I mean the guy is 6'10 and BUILT!

Good video, good vibes!

I think Jorts is going to remind everyone of David Lee by the time it's all said and done. A little less offensively oriented but most definitely much more defensive oriented David Lee.... He seems like he has a bigger body, is slightly taller but has shorter arms than Lee. They jump about the same and have similar foot speed. Even their final year of college stats before drafted have similarities.

I've been watching videos of Jorts to get an idea of his skill set and the guy is smart, skilled and tough minded. His feet aren't slow at all, he's not a plodder. While I think he's better suited for the PF spot as a front line sidekick to a great center, he probably will be able to man the 5 against many of the centers in the NBA with some level of competency.

I doubt it will happen as a rookie but eventually down the line he'll be a solid rotation player.

...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

He's looking pretty good there. Doesn't really look like a fattie. Looks as if he could put some people on their asses though. Let's hope.

Hey, if he does that, it's one less minute per game that we have to worry about who's gonna play center. :)

I like what Im seeing, this guy can shoot he bangs and can finish with both hands. We may have gotten another Fields steal in the 2nd rd, I think he can come right in and play 20 mpg.
Trust but verify.

It is odd that Europeans prefer Speedos over Jorts especially considering that it has been scientifically proven that Americans men are better endowed

stuporman wrote:He was listed pretty heavy on some draft sites at 275 if I remember correctly. Even if he lost 20-25 pounds and got more muscle to replace the fat he still would be a very solidly built dude. As much as we all would like to have that 7 footer type at center there aren't very many skilled ones around anymore.

At 275 and 15% bf, he'd only have to lose about 15 pounds to get to under 10% bf so around 260 or so. Then he could do a lean bulk back up to 270 by the time the season rolled around again.
