If we match Lin, how soon can we trade him? If Dolan doesn't want to deal with the 3rd year couldn't he just trade Lin before then?

People who keep talking about Felton as a 2 guard....he has never played that in his whole career, and is way undersized to do so. This is Dolan/Grun making a truly idiotic move.

Marc J. Spears ‏@SpearsNBAYahoo

Luxury tax team NYK fear of matching Lin deal understandable when 3rd year of tough to trade contract would cost $15 million, source tells Y!

The marketability of Jeremy Lin will, you know, dip if he averages 8 and 4 in Kevin McHale's offense.

From what I heard from Rockets fans, all Kevin McHale does is run pick and rolls.

If this is true, I will be stunned, and will only believe the following:

Lin has pissed off the Knicks management, and perhaps flat out said he doesn't want to be there any more, and it was enough for them to let him go.

Because THERE IS NO WAY THE KNICKS SHOULD JUST LET HIM WALK. No way.

It's a no brainer really. Very dumb move to pass on him, I'd like to see him stay in NY.

It'll be funny if we do both

Houstons plan, if we matched Lin was to target Felton
If we got and kept both
Houstons best PG would be Toney Douglas...with a really thin PG market after that

I don't think this is all about money, I think it's about the front office trusting veterans more.

Only explanation would be Dolan being really mad at the way this was handled.

Felton would not come here to play unless we let Lin walk. There wouldn't be enough minutes.

LMAO. Hahn's actually tweeting the reaction is mixed. That not as many people are upset about potentially losing him as he thought there would be. Doesn't surprise me because a lot of people are dumb. They look at the TO's, that Miami game and forget everything else, they think that little bit shows he's not good enough.

Woodson was never really a Lin fan. I'll bet that he's happy for this, now he can start Jason Kidd to his heart's content.

Not for nothing, but Kidd might be better defending 2 guards at this point than 1's...
