Linsanity was something different. As of late Monday morning, on the mere possibility that Lin might not be re-signed, MSG stock had lost about $50 million in market value — roughly as much as the salary and luxury tax that the Knicks would need to keep the dream alive for the next three years.

(Source: http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.co ... he-knicks/)

Even if you don't think we should keep Lin for basketball reasons, the stock has already lost what we would basically pay in that third year.

Well you did say he played better than Shump & Melo, if that's the case some sort of accomplishment would have to show for it. :dontknow:

Playing better than Anthony could be up for debate I guess - I think he did - but are you really questioning whether he played better than Shumpert?

No one is dismissing Lin's performance.. I'm just not overly hyped about the kid as you & others. And yes I do believe Shumpert will have a better NBA Career than Lin will. You would think we're talking about a top 10 pick here. we're talking about a kid the Knicks were gonna cut.

He's the best passer and creator we have.

Nothing here makes sense except Lin is heading out the door and we're ready to make that happen.

J. Kidd is still a brilliant orchestrator and Felton is better at hitting the roll man on the PnR (bodes well for Amare). Plus Kidd has worked with other PG's at off guard before.

If you factor in that Felton was at that July 4th bbq claiming he was a Knick already, then you've got the perfect storm for a conspiracy theory about the Knicks matching. Get off the ledge and wait and see.

I agree.

I guess. Your memories can't be erased.

Bad day in NY sports history but it's just sports. Maybe I take it too seriously? Probably so.

Apologies everybody.

You are fc uking joking right? Even if you are joking. jesus christ almighty.

My hometown lost over 10 people on 9/11 including a girl I went to high school with.

How the fc uk did you become a site admin?

You are comparing Jeremy Lin to the lost of 3000 people?

Take a chill pill and get off the net and apologize to everyone on here.

I agree. That was embarrassing. Shame he wont get any discipline since he has a lot of pull around here. If that was anyone else making that statement they'd be disciplined at the very least.

For that statement, I hope we resign Lin and he turns out to be a massive, soul-crushing disappointment. I lost family to that shyt, bro. Im sure Im not the only one. Equating losing Lin to the Towers coming down is insanity.

Take it easy dude. Did you just piss your pants over what he said.

You're goddamn right.

He's equating losing a f*cking point guard to thousands of people dying?

I had friends in those buildings. Lin leaving NY is nothing compared to that.

Nothing.

Damn right I'm piossed.

You know the fat guy is picking up his player option.

Along with extra tickets to the post-game buffets.

I just can't get over the comedic value of Felton and Dolan arranging all this at a BBQ.

Maybe. Maybe this was always in the works. But Occam's Razor is that this is all about patching a hole for Lin. They seemed to rush this deal to the finish line.

It doesn't look good.

No way, occam's razor can be even more simplified here. The Knicks are a better team with Lin than without...thus they will match.

Oh were you deeply wounded by that post? Need it to be "made better?" How about a fruit basket, would that help? Sheesh.

What freaking leverage did he have to get a player option? Were the Nets offering a max contract or something?

Sheesh.
