OT: THE WALKING DEAD SEASON 5 (NO SPOILERS)

Yea, this episode didn't do anything for me. I get it, "the police state" was an obvious plot device that wasn't very well executed because it was more or less communistic with every one having "purpose" and not having a choice in terms of what their purpose was except for the guys carrying the big stick.

To quote gay Cuban poet and novelist Reinaldo Arenas, in Democracy when someone gives you a swift kick in the ass, you can scream in pain...in Communism, you smile kindly and take it.

There was really nothing horrific about this episode. It was just a bunch of over the top "Mu-Hahahahaha!" authority figures.

Just hope this doesn't drag out and Carol aka "Ellen Ripley II" opens up a can of whup-a#@ and burns the entire hospital to the ground.

Didn't do much for me. Maybe it's because in the comic books the ruthless adversaries almost always rape a character. For example, in the book...The Governor has fun raping Michonne.

I do think it was STUPID for Glen and Carol to go running off without telling anyone about where they were going.

They didn't have a choice. They were chasing the vehicle that kidnapped Beth last season.

I'm curious as to who that person was hiding behind the bush at the end of the episode.

Anyone else would have likely came out at the same time as Daryl, especially Carol and Morgan. I don't recall Morgan ever meeting Daryl so he definitely seems unlikely to me.

Maybe I should rewatch the episode

I did not see the Everybody Hates Chris guy escape from the hospital. Last I remember he was running towards the gate, several walkers showed up at the outside of the gate and he didnt go through it.

Either way, I liked the episode.

I expected it to be a slow episode but I wouldn't say a filler episode. Filler episode would be the one when Beth and Darryl got drunk last season, that one was terrible. this one creates a new threat, shows other survivors, a different type of community.

Everyone here is maknig jokes how they hate Chris (aka noah) but I think he joins the group. He breaks free, runs into Darryl and Carol. Explains how the system works, that you have to look vulnerable and be "saved" to get inside. Maybe explains how it would be better for Carol to go in because they wouldn't expect it. Then Carol gets in there with Beth and runs shi, Darryl and Noah come as back up near the gate, and the 4 of them escape.

He almost certainly joins the group, daryl comes back to rick with someone, and it sure isn't carol. And im totally expecting some carol bad ass-ness. Shes the andrea of the show

After that episode, there's no doubt in my mind that the writing and general character development behind the Nevertale Walking Dead Game is leaps and bounds better than actual show. It's been 5 seasons and there's about only 1 character I "care" about. I can't be the only one thinking that right?

I didn't think it was a filler episode at all. It's obviously setting up the next plot thread, developing a new set of characters/enemies now that the Terminus thread has been resolved, and trying to move the group back out of the woods to Atlanta. I appreciate character development so I didn't think the Darryl/Beth was filler either, and the bond they developed that episode may turn out to be important. To me, a filler episode is one that neither advances the plot nor develops any of the characters. A good example of filler was the one where Andrea spends an entire episode trying to escape the Governor only to get caught at the end. That's classic definition of filler.

Meh, you feel this way because the walking dead games are so compact and get to the point real quick. They get great climatic moments every episode, which isn't possible to do on TV all the time. Plus i dunno if i can really call those games, your decisions really don't matter that much at all. Its more of an interactive movie that gives you false pretenses that your decisions matter.

Plus while you are playing as clementine or some other character you are making the decisions, so you feel more personally involved, which makes you care more

the whole rape thing is so pedestrian, everytime they want to give a female chr an obstacle to overcome it's always has something to do with her sexuality

I feel like Beth might be our next surprise character like Carol. I remember season 1 everyon including myself writing of Carol that she'd be gone really soon. Now she's easily the most badass character and a huge part of the group.

Beth could be another situation. Started her off as a suicidal teen, useless, and that last episode saw her killing more walkers than I've seen in all of the seasons shes been in combined. Maybe they give her a badass role too.

If that is the case and if this Noah character is added to the group along with Pastor Gabriel, the group will need to be trimmed. Even though they split up, I see some more deaths coming. Sasha will be one to go, and I think maybe Tyrese.
